vv box mod ? can I use a pot only w/o a chip of some sort?

Hey everyone,
I'm a fairly new modder, only have made basic 3.7v boxes and a 5v regulated. I picked up some parts to make a vv box using 2x14500s, but am unsure about the vv part. Can I use a potentiometer to bring the voltage down from the 7.4 it will be at, or do I need some sort of regulator or chip?
I'm also drawing a blank on what resistance pot I would need, I can't believe I can't remember the formula for what a voltage would be after going through a resistor.

Hey dDubs go to Madvaps web page and look at there diy second under mod kits and look at vv box mod and there will be a Instructions on how to there .

I think I saw that, it only gave assembly instructions for their mod kits.

yes you do need a voltage adj. regulator... A pot will not be enough
