This is what I bought my wife based on good reviews I read. Kanger Evod 2 Starter Kit

It just came in today and the device was just disappointing. The vapor and flavor seem like I bought a disposable gas station ecig. Am I doing something wrong? We tried charging the battery but it says it's charged. In comparison to my iTaste Leo Pro this thing seems like a toy but it's in the same price range.

Hopefully it's user error and not the device. Any suggestions?

:EDIT: I did notice if I took really long pulls the vapor was comparable but it was hot and almost had a burnt taste. Not sure if that changed anything.

It might be a bad head. Did you try another head? I don't know about the Evod2 but there has been quite a few comments on bad heads.
You might want to get some replacements to try. Plus you are going to need some pretty fast anyway.
Usually it's the coil or wick that causes most problems.
Most of the comments I've seen have been positive so it's probably something simple.

What is going on with the battery? It didn't show what the Mah is.
Hope it works out for you. Good luck

The most important thing to remember is these clearomizer tanks like the Evod only have tiny silica string to wick the e-liquid to the heating coil heads. Too hard of a puff can cause burnt or dry hits. Using the proper filling technique, and a longer/slow/gentle draw technique while vaping is essential for a satisfactory experience. After filling with liquid for the first time (dry unsaturated wick), be sure to do a couple of "primer puffs" (sucking without power on) before attempting to vape it.

You could try a higher ohm (resistance) coil head (2.2 or 2.5 ohm) for a cooler vape.

Kanger has had some issues with their coil head consistancy, so if you get one that doesn't appear to be working properly - change it out for a new one.

Thanks for the replies. I've got it vaping good but my wife is still figuring it out. I tried priming it to begin with but it didn't seem to make a difference although after letting it sit for a little bit it did seem to improve. Kind of strange how different my first experience was with my vape compared to hers.

I think the newer evod 2 are using low Mah battery's (500 Mah) in the starter kits. But with the evod 2 being dual coil they could take more power! But after a couple of charges the battery's will get stronger also the coils will settle in making them improve over the first couple of days. Stick with them. I agree with the advise to go with the single coil heads when time comes to replace them.

I have an EVOD2 on an ego twist, and find that for some liquids, mainly higher PG, I have to crank it up to 4 or higher volts to get a good vape.

I am contemplating rebuilding one of my dual coil heads with a single coil and cotton wick to see if that works better. I know you can rebuild the pro tank heads, but not clear on if the same procedure would apply to the dual coil heads. They look very similar.

The dual coils you got with the Evod 2 should be 1.5 ohm heads--those are what came with my Evod Glass. Still, the batteries that you have--which are fixed voltage--will not be up to the task to run them for very long before needing a charge (they will hit the best when fully charged and then, as the batteries drain, they will provide less voltage to the coil, resulting in a degraded vaping experience). My suggestion would be to seek out a stronger, variable battery to continue using the dual coils--or go to a single coil.

When I first got the Evod starter kit, the stock coils worked well for the first day or two, then they went WAY downhill. I was getting little vapor, some dry/burnt hits, as well as flooding. I took out the factory silica wicks, did a few dry burns to clean the coils, then re-wicked with cotton. Oh man they worked so much better!! Breathed a whole new life into my heads; I'm talking 3-legged lizard to fire-breathing dragon... Ok maybe not that extreme, especially compared to an Evod on an APV at higher watts, but still great for stock heads on a non-VV Ego battery!! Would def give that a try. In the very least it will allow you to extend the life of your heads vs. tossing them and replacing with new ones quite as often.

Should you try, do a bit of research ie. use organic cotton, and boil then dry before using, and make sure to role the cotton firmly, but not tight. The cotton should be snug in the coil, but not tight, as the cotton will expand a good bit once it is saturated in juice. If you use too little you will get flooding and dry/burnt hits. You will need to experiment a bit w/ what size, if any, flavor wick is needed. Also, be sure to prime the cotton, once placed in the coil, w/ e-liquid, before using. It also helps to take puffs on the Evod in between "hits" to keep the wick saturated and primed while chain-vaping

-Best of Luck-

As another poster pointed out, Kanger has been having some QC problems with their heads lately. I got alot of burnt hits and/or flooding from new heads until I rebuilt them (single coil though). Way back when, the EVOD 1s were as reliable as could be. Something has definitely changed over there.
Do the EVOD2 double coils have the little silicone grommet on the post, like the single coil heads? If so, you might try to flip that upside down to let more juice get to the wicks.

The base for the Evod 2 is different from the base for the Evod, and will not take the single coil heads. My daughter and I have the Evod Glass and are using the bases from the Protank 2 Mini so that we can use single coil heads.

Well how typical. I have a bunch of the good ole' Evod heads in LR. So they won't fit the Evod2? But will fit the glass ones?
Wish they'd standardize em'.

Hope the OP gets those working well.

I only have the Glass, not the Evod 2, but my understanding is that they use the same base assembly. Therefore, to use the single coil Evod heads in an Evod 2 you would also need to use them in a Protank 2 Mini base.
