So I've only been vaping for about 3 weeks, and I more or less started with an ego twist and a mini vivi nova. I've been vaping some pink spot and some 50/50 in my vivi nova. I've been finding that it gets a little thick and sludgy and flavourless in the last .75 ml or so. My theory is that the wick is having issues with the thicker VG and it's the same effect as sucking all the juicy goodness out of a slurpee and being left with that thick ice heavy bland crap at the bottom of the cup.

Does anyone else experience this or am I alone in this?

I have an eVic and a boge F16 carto tank here in a few days and I'm hoping that will solve this issue for me because I really do enjoy the VG heavy juice.

yea vivi's do better with 30% or less VG its just hard for the thicker juice to travel through those skinny wicks, but even if your using a mostly pg mix you should still pop out your wicks and rinse them out and give them a dry burn or two every tank or two, and dump the thick left over juice that is dark colored out its just all burnt up left overs that worked there way back down the wick after burning the juice up, and by just leaving it in there when you refill you will just dirty up your wicks faster and get poor performance from them sooner.

I use 50/50 juice also in Vision VVN's, Boge cartos in tanks and Clearomizers. Each device has it's own peculiarities and all work well for me.

With the VVN when the juice level gets to about 3/4 ml or less left I vape with the PV about horizontal so the wicks are covered in juice. I have no feeling that there is anything thick or ugly left at the bottom. I'm still on my first head after a couple of months which I feel is great performance. Same with Clearo's when they get low. Neither the VVN's or Clearo's will take high volts well, but they both perform very nicely at 4.2'ish V or less.

The Boges in a tank are more forgiving, but you still have to be careful to keep the coil wet so the filler does not burn. It's in the opposite direction though, I keep the PV battery end down to keep the carto holes covered in juice. They will go much higher in volts and give the best performance overall when dialed in right, but I've found they are more finicky to setup correctly, so it's a trade off like most things.

I have a Kanger T2 and have not had much luck with it so far so it's not in my regular rotation, but I'm not giving up yet. I probably just don't 'get it' yet or maybe I have a bad one.

Not everything works for everyone. Hope you find what works for you and keeps you away from cigs. That's all that counts :2cool:

I was ready to toss my Mini Vivi due to similar problems. Found out that the head, marked as being 2.4 ohms, had a true resistance of 3.0

Replaced the head with a (true) 2.0 ohm, and that also had a different type of wick, and problems solved. YMMV.

This is still a new industry and Quality Control for many products is not what one would hope for.

I had the same problem...my 2.4ohm head was also a 3.0ohm. I changed it out just yesterday for the head that was marked as 1.8ohm & it is actually a 2.2ohm. I have just used the different heads that came with it...where did you find the ones that fixed the problem?

Local brick & mortar (Albuquerque, NM) at $2.00 each, bought 2 of them. The units were marked 1.8 ohms but tested at 2.0. The first one is still going strong at almost 3 weeks -- if the second does as well, I'll go back and buy a dozen.

I'll have my eVic in a few days and I'm curious to know what these heads from my mini vivi actually are for resistance. Since I've had my vivi I've pretty much just had 50/50 in it. Last night I put some 70/30 in and I'm at about .75ml left and it seems a little thicker than when it went it , but nowhere near as much as the 50/50 thickens.

The quickest test is on a VW if you know anyone that has one. If you have a brick & mortar in your area, they'll usually accomodate and test it for you.

I've had issues with my vivi novas and 50/50 blends, too. It seems like it must be a wicking issue. It also seems like the 50/50 mixes tend to burn through heads faster.

It also depends on the specific juice you're using. Darker juices are harder on the heads, and there is a difference in segregation of the components during the wicking process.

Def no brick and mortar, closest one is a 4 hour drive then a 2 hour boat ride across a chunk of ocean lol.

My evic will display the ohm on the screen the moment I screw it in, excited for that.

I initially had some issues with 100% VG with Vivi Nova's too. First thing I did was after adding the e liquid is let it sit for a while, and then twirl it slowly for a little while. This is to make sure the wicks get nice and saturated. I also do a quick twirl every now and then when I vape and I vape with it sideways not up and down or even at a 45 degree angle. That seems to have cleared it up. With 70/30 blends I don't need to do any of that, and for VG's I regularly vape I go with a regular Boge carto in a tank (needs a nice sized hole). Yet with VG's I am simply trying out I use my Vivi Nova's since they are much easier to clean out and use again with a different juice.

I asked this in a separate thread but ill bring it up again and get your opinion.

Trying my first carto with a tank out on Monday. Have you used the boge with the 2 factory punched holes? Are those two small holes enough for 50/50 juice to flow through? Would like to get an idea before I fill a tank.
