Newbie here, started about a month ago with the kgo v1 starter kit and a 2.1 to 2.4 ego clearomizer from Hoosiers and it tasted pretty great. Recently got the Vivi Nova and ran into some trouble. The juice still tastes great when I switch to the clearomizer but in the tank it's just bland regardless of which heads I throw into it (1.8, 2.4). I've read positive reviews for it, anyone know what could be going on in my case? I've only been using the chocolate cream flavor from Hoosiers, will try another soon but it seems like a decent question... I tried doing a search but no one seems to quite have the same issue or in the one case that does no one really provided an answer.

edit to mention this is the v3 mega version of the tank.

welcome to the wonderful world of vivi nova... its common with this tank when starting with it first it's great! then as you move on you realize, hmmm not as great as I thought on the flavor, while it works great and does what it's supposed to do, it really is about middle of the road for flavor production.

I used one for a long time and got my first rebuildable atomizer used that for a day or two then picked up my nova and went "hey its broken some how" If you already hit this point,it's time to just move along and find something else.

people love the nova, when I started I did too, I still recommend it as a great starting device or something thats very reliable on the go and easy to maintain . I even still use the mini for work. but I will not suggest it to anyone looking for killer flavor output.
since your taste is already changing i would say try one of the many killer rebuildable atomizers out there, a lot of them kick it for flavor...

Hi, thanks for the reply. Not sure I'm following though, as it was never great for me. So you're saying I effectively downgraded to the tank from the clearomizer in regards to taste? I'm kind of wondering why such the taste differential between the two.

What would you recommend I get? I wanted to move to something slightly more affordable, but that tasted as good or better than the clearomizer. The tank seemed to work the exact same way, so the taste really threw me off. I'm not sure what to look for anymore.

yea thats what im saying ,trying to do it politely to not get flamed to death by the nova cult, its nothing special, if you see the difference -you have downgraded on flavor. i was just saying most dont see it if this is where they start until moving up..
noone has been able to figure out why the muted taste as it uses the same kind of parts as every clearo out there.

you might be interested in trying a carto tank or a splitfire tank or any of the wonderful tank atomizers, for clearos I stick with kanger T2's, clearo style with replaceable heads.

You didnt really say if you more capacity or willing to refill a little more often but want better taste

Oh, ok. Yeah I'd be okay with refilling if it's ultimately less costly than a clearomizer and will produce good flavor. The Kanger looks good. Also wondering if you've tried the ego vision clearos? The Kanger looks a lot like one but offers replaceable parts. Seems like what I should've gotten! Wondering if you could make a direct comparison?

well can only go by my personal experience, I have a box with about 35 different clearos from different brands/models/rebuildables etc.

some people have wonderful luck with clearos - I do not it seems and almost everyone i have tried leaked, clogged or some other crap.
i think i may have some visions in there, but I ended up using the T2 because of a review I saw, the guy laid it on his desk, turned it around, held it upside down and no juice came out. so far this is also my results.

i would say if you dont mind taking a chance get one just one and try it. if it's not great its always there for an emergency. and with the t2 i have seen sales for the heads as low as .99 cents
Still have to try cleaning one.

Yeah I have some issues with the ego vision leaking a bit where it meets the battery, so every now and then I'll open it and see if there's leakage in there and wipe it up. I've gone through several of them and this seems consistent but trivial enough to not matter too much... no leaks upside down on this either. If the Kanger is similar and provides roughly the same taste I think I'll go for that.

Oh yeah, from the info here I've been doing some DIY stuff too and will try doing that with the Vivi so I can get some use out of it. Using more for the same effect though = :(

I like the kangers better yea, and im sure theres a clearo type product out there that beats it too, but to be fair and honest none of it is matching the flavor from my rebuildable atomizers, i only look at clearo's and tanks for portability, reliability and hassle free vaping like at work where i cant really fiddle around with something, fill it up, drop it in my pocket and get to working and not have to wrry about a spill or something.

I use Vivi Nova's but one thing about them is that the flavor and vapor production doesn't seem to come on until I have vaped about a ml in them. I am not sure why. I initially thought I had bad heads and even replaced some right out of the chute. For some reason I just stuck with the Vivi Novas I had filled and noticed after a couple of hours they started performing great!

I like the design and ease of cleaning/filling and the capacity but it drives me nuts when I need to replace the heads to have a so-so vape from them for a while.

i was one of the "cult" as thrasher speaks of but i have to digress... i was drawn into the world of carto tanks and once you get past the learning curve (which there definitely is one) they are better at least for higher VG juices and dark colored juices IMHO. I've noticed my daily vape copper creek house blend at 40/60 likes to burn up nova heads and make the flavor inconsistent so that could be part of the reason i switched lol. biggest thing with carto tanks is learning how to fill them properly and having some patience. Also had to change my normal smoking draw to a lighter longer draw to stop flooding the carto which was terribly annoying at first.

i will say if you have around 70/30 clear fruit flavored juices they work FANTASTIC in novas so i wont be getting rid of them, just being more selective at what goes in them.

on a side note a tip to your new nova heads, soak them in some vodka/everclear for a couple hours, rinse well with warm water and let them dry for a couple hours and they wont take like plastic out of the box anymore. also i find that dripping one drop of juice on the coil and one on each wick before I screw the tube down primes it enough to not get burnt taste for the first couple draws on a fresh tank.

Good tips, RCP. I am also a fan of carto tanks, by the way. Aside from my bottom feeder, the flavor and vapor production are fantastic. Their only downside is if you are traveling from low to high elevation - they develop a pressure differential from inside the tank to the carto. If you are not actively vaping it, the liquid will force into the carto and leak all over the place. (I live in Idaho so experienced this in my travels!)

The Vivi Nova does not experience this so they are my choice when traveling.

Thanks for the tip, will try soaking them in vodka. Is the plastic taste you are talking about here kind of overwhelming of the flavor? This might be what I'm getting.

Also, 70/30 being PG/VG?

yup and its was a big turn off when i first got my nova so i read up on cleaning and figured why not clean the head before i even put it on.... cant hurt right? bingo! problem solved for me at least

yes 70pg 30 vg, i got some watermelon from BWB in my big nova and it is a 70/30 juice and some 60/40 apple cider from copper creek in my small one.... after 3 weeks with the same head and same juice on my mini nova its finally starting to lose flavor so i may replace the head this time around when i fill it instead of cleaning
