So I rolled the dice on an iStick 100w a month ago as a replacement for my daily beater iPV mini. While 30 days is not an extensive time period for a long-term evaluation it does get me beyond initial impressions:
Size: Yeah, it's large. Towers over the 50w, Cool Fire IV, and eVic VT. I have large hands, so it's not uncomfortable for me to use and control. Those with shorter digits may find it a bit unwieldy.
Buttons: Yep, they rattle. Deal with it. All are "clicky" and produce positive actuation.
Battery Door: Excellent fit, stays put, no rattles. Were it not for the fingernail slot, it might be virtually impossible to separate from the body. batteries are a tight fit in the battery well with no rattles.
USB Charging: Haven't used it nor will I. Can't comment.
Auto Fire: No occurrences. Actually, no strange or unexpected behavior at all.
510: No connection problems at all with a Lemo, Subtank mini, Naut, Kayfun. Connection is solid, straight and toppers seat down on the 510, not the top surface of the 100w. There is a very, very slight gap between the topper and the top surface of the 100w.
Battery Life: For background, I chain vape a single wound Kanthal 1.4 at 12-14w. 25Rs last about 15ml or two days while HE4s will get 20ml and half way into the third day. To be fair, the 25Rs are over a year old and have been cycled 100s of times. The HE4s are pretty much on their maiden voyage. I would suggest starting with new batteries and pairing them for life.
Vape Experience: All is well. No rattle snakes, misfires, or surging. I've seen no appreciable difference in vape quality from a full charge down to the flashing low battery indicator. Regulation must be pretty good and is probably RMS tuned. BTW, the flashing low battery indicator triggers at around 3.4V, so you won't be killing your batteries with the 100w.
Overall: Assuming I can get another 5 months before things start to go south, I'll chock this one up as the best $30 vape dollars spent in the last 3 years. I haven't been swept away with low ohm hyper power or TC and probably won't be. 100w is gross overkill for my vaping style. What I was after was external batteries with reasonable battery life and reliable performance. Thus far, mission accomplished.
