I recently bought an istick from eBay. I don't have a collection of mini USB chargers, so I got one with my istick, as they were offered as an option. The output is not listed on the charger, so I did some Googling, and found it's a cell phone charger.

So, my question is, what is the proper charger to use with an istick?

As far as I've been told, a 1A 5V charger (wall adapter). But any cellphone charger that fits will work out. Most are less than 1A though, might take longer to charge the iStick. As far as I can tell - no expert, just repeating stuff I read elsewhere :)

Unless you're asking about the usb-micro cable. And in that case, this is what I was directed to when asked. Micro USB Cable - eVic

I got the full kit from Indy Vapor Shop, and while the micro usb doesn't have anything labeled, the wall adaptor that came with it is 5v 1000mah.

I had a question recently about something similar and was directed to the inter vet tech questions section for best answers. You can ask there, if your feeling unsure. .http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/inter-vet-tech-questions

The USB standard voltage is always 5 volts DC, it's an industry standard. The amperage rating is the maximum a wall wart, or USB hub is capable of providing, not the amps forced on the circuit.

The iStick, or cell phone, tablet, coffee cup warmer has the circuitry that determines how many amps are drawn, the charger doesn't.

When you get in your car and the speedometer will read up to 120 MPH, doesn't mean when you turn the ignition, you automatically accelerate to 120 MHP, it's the maximum allowed.

The cord that comes with the iStick is a generic USB to USB micro type B. The wall adapter that is supplied by eLeaf in the full kits is pictured below. Any adapter with the same ratings, or rated at 5V at 500 to 2000 ma will work just fine.

I just emailed eleafus asking this question. They are in CA, so it will be awhile before I get an answer. And there are no chargers for sale on their website. So, we will see what happens.

This statement is on their website listed with the iSticks

The iStick is charged through USB port located at base of battery. It conveniently lets you vape while charging. For faster charging use a 1A wall adapter.

From what I know of battery safety, the output of the charger should be no more than 4.2V. And I believe the output of cell phone chargers is 5V. But the charger is not even marked, so I don't want to use it. And I'm not sure what I should be buying.

Keep in mind where the Charger Is.

With the iStick, the Charger is Built-In. So all you need to do is Supply it with power. From there, the Built-In Charger will send the Appropriate Charge to the iStick's Battery.

Standard Voltage for USB Powered devices is 5v as Stosh mentioned. So as Long as you provide the iSticks Built-In Charger with 5v from a Standard USB Power Source, you will be Fine.

As to mA?

Well, if you USB Power source Only Outputs 5v @ 500mA, then the iSticks's Built-In Charger will take ALL 500mA and charge the Battery. It will be kinda Slow. But it will be fine.

If you USB Power source Outputs 5v @ 1000mA, then the iSticks's Built-In Charger will take ALL 1000mA and charge the Battery. The Battery will Charge Faster than if you gave it 500mA.

if you USB Power source Outputs 5v @ Greater than 1000mA, then the iSticks's Built-In Charger will take ONLY 1000mA and charge the Battery. And your Battery will Charge in the Same Time as if you gave the Built-In Charger 1000mA.

Thank you. :) You 2 explained best what I was having trouble understanding.

No Problem serenity.

How do you Like your iStick so Far?

I like it a lot. I bought it mostly to throw in my purse when I go out. I notice what Phil Brusardo said about it being overpowered, but I just turn it down a bit. I don't expect perfection for that pricepoint.
