funny, I saw an entirely different set of clones on FB yesterday. They were 24.98, and had a "real" red, a couple of bodies with splashes of color on top of the base. It was on a site that can't be posted here, and it never gave the original company of origin, but they were really pretty too.

I was wondering the same thing though, with a device that you can get for $30, why clone?

i wonder if everything is a clone. Or are companies getting there main sales and price point and then make a value series to sell a little cheaper and make it look like a clone. Opens up a second market for people thinking they are getting a deal, You will still have you supporters that think the original is better. Manufacturer's do that in this country all the time. What a way to pump up sales and make it look like everyone wants in on your idea.

They're rebadged Isticks.

It's the same thing that happened with all the 808 starter cigs. They are all made by the same few manufacturers and the merchants all come out touting that it's the "latest Technology."

I know a guy who works for Kodak (one of the few left). He told me that the their cameras were made by the same manufacturer as the low level Canon, Nikon etc. When they run the manufacturing line, they have badging for one merchant. Then they stop the line, change out the branding and resume the run. Rinse and repeat for the next seller.

This is done with virtually every peice of technology, aside from the obvious apple and a few others. Even still, apple uses parts from other suppliers and just has more fancy form factors.

more color selection on the smart-20, I would have liked an istick in gold!! Maybe given their popularity they'll expand the choices...

that blue with gold splashes looks great..or a RED that's really a red with gold splash..*lol*

I might snag one of these and see how they compare...thanks!

While looking at the pictures on the FT site, the screws are phillips head while the ones on my friends are torx. I heard that FT is actually run by the Chinese government. As with the nature of batteries care should be taken because the last thing we need would be for it to start a fire or blow in your face. Just my :2c:

Do you even have a clue 99%+ of all e-cig related product is from China?
Keep the :2c: . You may need it some day.

I wonder if these clones are prone to ghost hits as well. Mine started out with single ghost hits. Now it isn't uncommon to get doubles, a few times a day. Even so, I still like the size of this thing. I will be glad when they come out with an iStick 2. Maybe they will iron out a few issues with this model. I still enjoy using it even though it does have flaws. The size is PERFECT for one thing. The battery is pretty long lasting too. Those two things right there are what made me buy it. If it was cloned, and they ironed out the issues, it would be BETTER than the original.

Think I was one of the first that bought one of the clones. Bought them the first day FastTech got them. Has not came in yet but should be here in the next couple days. But with Christmas who knows. Just want to compare to my two authentic Isticks. No plans to buy a mini. CHEERS!
