So today while at work my RJ Rep came in and asked if anyone smoked, I showed him my ego spinner and we got to talking about their ecig coming out soon to our market....and of course I'm all "I'm sorry but any ecig that looks like a cig sucks big time"
of course he goes into his spiel about how theirs is new and different and they guarantee no dry hits a perfect hit every time....
I rolled my eyes :)
"No really...how it works is that the battery and the cartridge both have a chip in them and they talk to each other so that it's the perfect puff every time!"
He must have seen the look in my eyes as I drew the conclusion...
"Yes that means you can't use any other cartridge with it or battery as the chips talk to each other and won't work without each other"

So it begins...Big T marketing their corner now to make it harder for users to go to other brands....
so far RJ is the only one that I know with this but I wouldn't doubt PM and Lorillard to follow suit.
That's ok, let them fight it out over their petty 510s lol and we'll all stick to our better PVs:laugh:

I heard this was in the pipe lines as a relative works in an info-distribution company, but couldn't let that cat out of the bag due to disclosure liability! It's just about ready to roll. Be ready for the influx of new ECF members. I would suggest not using them as well, as I heard they were making them give you more of the same feeling as you would get with real tobacco. To me that means ADDITIVES!

It doesn't bother me about BT getting into e-cigs since they won't be getting any of my money. I guess it is just their way of trying to get people to only use their brand which isn't surprising, any smart company would want that. I think most people that try their product (I hope) would soon become disenchanted with the cost and lack of choices and explore other avenues for getting vape gear. It is getting pretty hard to avoid seeing the myriad of options open to e-cig users if they have internet/smartphone availability.

Exactly...at least they are trying to "invent a better mousetrap" rather than crush any and all "personal vape" technology and shut us down

PV's have grown beyond their monolithic control...the genie is out of the bottle and no amount of money they throw at it will squelch the movement

Welcome to the Revolution!!!!!!!

Unless they come out with an Ecig with 4G... Then the people will not know until after they purchase it.. diabolical

I agree. If you know nothing about ecigs, it sounds like a neat gimmick, cool technology and all, but unless they've managed to come up with some really incredible ground-breaking development that will satisfy many smokers for the long term, they're going to get a lot of first-time purchasers who will then move on to the good stuff. I get the impression these big corporations underestimate most smokers! They definitely underestimate current vapers!

the only good thing that I have seen come of all of this is the price for the cig-look-alike kits have come way down in price :)

so at least it'll bring people more into trying e cigs...and hopefully enough of an interest for them to realize that "hey I could do this but surely there has to be something better than this" mindset....
