It would be "unfortunate" if my Chinese-made back-up were to have a little "accident"

An even better fate would be if your chinese made backup ended up in the hands of someone you know who is trying to quit smoking, but struggling with 510s or eGo or has station ecig....perhaps an acquaintance who would love to try and vape, but can't afford the initial investment

The thread was (partially) in jest.. :D

All in good time...

Going to be giving away my cig-alike kits & eGo-type soon to a friend who I owe a favor to, so she can pass it all onto her smoking relatives..

A 2nd ProVari isn't in the budget at the moment, but should be eventually.. I'm actually concerned that the Chinese-made one isn't going to last long enough to be able to PIF it

Guess I'll see which comes first, LOL

If I may ask... What was the price on the Chinese one, and how long did it last you? Assuming you're talking about a Provari clone...?

It's a Sigelei Zmax V3... I got it as part of a kit, but the stand-alone price is all over the map.. I'd say about $50

It's still going, I use it every day alongside the ProVari.. But the common issue of the internals shifting (which can eventually lead to performance issues) is already underway.. Not even 3 months old, but also a lot of daily use (obviously less so now since the ProVari arrived on the scene :D).. Figure I might as well try to get my money's worth

Some people claim that they can repair theirs, but also sounds like they have to keep opening it up for re-repairs... Doesn't sound like a reliable fix to me..

I have one too. I noaloxed the threads and am very particular against over tightening, but it has definitely lost it's sheen in my eyes. I may pif it or just keep it around to use my 18650 flat top and use it to build coils on and check the ohms.

My daily drivers are my MVP2's and my ProVari. I use the MVP 2's out and about and I love that they are "all in one" and perfect for travelling. Plus If I lose one....oh well..... Who cares if they are disposable at this point.

I was loving the Sig when I first got it... it was a huge step up from my non-variable 650 mAh eGo-type

Of course, everything is relative...

Aside from the poor design & quality, I'm not sure what caused the shifting (both the screen & the button contact in separate instances)... It did fall 3 feet to a hard floor once, and has been knocked over a few times while standing on my desk.. Accidental over-tightening is obviously a potential culprit, but I belive I've been pretty careful with that

A 2nd ProVari is definitely in the cards.. When -- not if... :D

Trying to hold out for the next version, if possible, but would be happy with another V2.5
