Hey guys I posted a few months ago about my I taste 134 shocking me and I'm back again to try to fix this 100 dollar paperweight. I'm currently using a kanger tech quad turbo clearomiser. The problem is when I try to fire the coils up they do nothing, they don't heat up or crackle, instead I can hear a faint electric current running throw my mod, it almost sounds like a squeal. Now if I decide to pucker up and try to vape I get the bejesus shocked out of me. I've tried so many different things to try to fix it. I've tested the clearomiser on different battery's and it works fine and I've tried different clearomisers on my itaste and they work. So I can't figure out what's causing my mod to turn into a mini taser. Anyways all help is greatly appreciated.

There's clearly a short. It's not grounding for some reason, so the current sent through your coil is grounding out through your lip. That's not good, but it may not be a major problem.

There are two places to check. The first is the 510 connector at top. Make sure the threads are free from any debris, oils, or any thing else that may be coating the threads and blocking the electrical connection. The threads provide the ground to your atomizer. From there the current should pass through the body of the mod to the bottom cap. In the bottom cap is a brass pin. I've never taken one of these apart before but that brass pin needs to make contact with the body, either by a conductive spring, wire, or by being pressed into the cap so it's a permanent connection. If nothing is wrong with the 510 threads then this is where your short will be.

Like I said, I've never taken one of these caps apart myself but if you can get it apart then the broken link should be obvious. In fact I would start by pulling on the pin and see if it comes straight out. If that doesn't work then try prying the black insulator out and see what's underneath. If you damage or destroy it, don't fret too much. A replacement cap is just $5.

So, it's either going to be a gunked up 510 connector that just needs to be cleaned really well, something broken in the bottom cap which you can fix, or worst case scenario is replacing the bottom cap for $5.

The short could be in a number of places in the mod: the 510 connector, the fire button, hot spring, etc. You would need a digital multimeter to test for shorts. Once finding the culprit, it would need to be replaced.

Nah, there's only two places it could fail that would cause his lips to be shocked. It's delivering the positive charge to the atomizer, but it's not grounding. The short will either be in the threading at the 510 connector or the bottom cap. The body of the mod is the ground just like a mech mod. As long as the 510 connector is securely attached to the body and nothing is in the threads insulating the threads from the atomizer then the bottom cap will be the culprit.

No need for a multimeter. It simply has a broken connection to the ground on the battery. It's not grounded so his lips provide the ground when he fires it.

Easy fix.

I just have to agree with baditude here. I don't know anything about the shorts in your mod, and I am sorry your having problems. Believe me, I have been there countless times myself. I finally learned to pay for quality mods, and sellers who actually back their products. Every Chinese mod I ever bought is long in the trash. They never lasted. If you prefer VV you can't beat a Provari, as for mechs I'm loyal to the Reo. Both have outstanding quality and customer service.
