My iTaste MVP 2.0 seems to have a quirk. When it is plugged in and charging, sometimes the display and the P/U buttons stops responding. It will remain at the same power setting and still fires fine, I just can't change the setting or check the resistance and battery level.

Unplugging the charger cable fixes it. The puff counter is retained, so it is not somehow reseting itself. When I plug the charger back in, the buttons and display work again, only to stop working again at a random point in the future.

When it is not charging, everything works perfectly.

I figured out what triggers this behavior -- when you check the resistance of the attached atomizer and the battery level by pressing both buttons together. Once you do this, nothing else but the fire button functions. You also cannot turn off the MVP 2.0 by pressing the fire button three times. You need to "reset" it by unplugging the charging cable then plugging it back in.

As long as you don't check the resistance and battery level, your MVP 2.0 should function fine. You can change voltage or wattage settings and it will continue to work while charging.

Can anyone else confirm what I found in the reply directly above this one?

You are absolutely correct. I just tested your theory on mine. I was able to chance the voltage several times, and even change to wattage mode and adjust that as well. As soon as I checked the resistance and battery voltage, I was unable to do anything else with it again while still plugged in. This is odd as I have an itaste vv v3 and you can do anything and everything you want on that while it's plugged in.

Great, thanks erikbal!

It looks like we've gotten to the bottom of this strange little quirk with the iTaste MVP 2.0.

I also have an iTaste VV 3.0 and everything works fine when charging like yours. While the specs are the same for these two PV's (3.3 - 5.0 volts in 0.1 volt increments, 6.0 - 11.0 watts in 0.5 watt increments), and the exact same display is used in both, you need to take into consideration the user interface on the VV 3.0 is slightly different than that on the MVP 2.0. It has +/- buttons to adjust voltage and wattage in both directions instead of the separate buttons for voltage and wattage adjustment which increases the setting until the maximum then "rolls over" to the minimum setting. Switching between variable voltage and variable wattage modes is also different.

So it would make sense that there would be additional differences in the user interface on the VV 3.0, specifically, the lack of this bug in the MVP 2.0.
