Itaste MVP + Innokin iClear 16 Dual Coil Review

My new itaste mvp just arrived from fast tech so i thought i would do a little review.
https://www.fasttech.com/products/1352000

First off the box the kit comes in it brilliantly packaged. When i got my VAMO it basically arrived in a bag. The itaste is in a sterdy plastic box with clear plastic on the front so you can see in and say hello. Once you take the front off you have a thin metal sheet that surrounds the itaste. I thought it was just paper or plastic so i was surprised to see this metal piece. Still don't see the point in it but it defiantly sends the message that this is a well built device.

The itaste itself is housed in foam so it cant move around. Again a good sign they care about the product during shipping. One the itaste is out of the way with the foam you get to the second layer. The second layer of foam houses 2 iclear 16 duel coils clearomizers as well as a beauty ring and charging cable. Even the charging cable had a perfect outline and was rested in the foam. Also includes is some quick info on how to fill it, not important :p

As you can imagine the first thing i did was fit one of the tanks and fire it up. I have 2 different gen vivi novas (Bad knockoffs) which i tried on it first to see what they would look like with the beauty ring and i have to say they looked awesome. The finished look was flush with the device. To look at it you would think it was a 1 piece device. The vivis i have i really enjoy so i thought i would never like the tiny CE5 clearomizers that came with them but seeing as my vivi's leak bad (Loosing 1-2ml of juice a day) i thought what the hell lets try them. It may be that my novas and all my previous CE2-CE4 clearos were crap but this thing vapes like crazy. No leaks, no gurgling none of that. Just a nice smooth taste and plenty of vapor more than i have ever got before. They look amazing on the device aswell (With or without beauty ring)

I have been vaping all day non stop and still the battery is near full. When you push the button to vape it gives you a nice lightshow with either Green, Orange or Red to show the life of your battery. I liked this feature compared to the way you check on a VAMO for example. The plasment of the button is a bit of a pet pieve for me. Its not really an issue but it just feels wierd compared to the way i hold my other devices. I would also like the button to stick out a bit more and give me a nice click when i press it. As it stands now its flush with the device and doesn't give much of a response when you press it.

They buttons to control the up/down voltage are on the side with a little screen. Its out of the way which i like as i rarely change my voltage unless i am changing a tank. They voltage does not round robin (Go from 3.3 to 5.0) which i like as i used to accidentally change it to 6 on my vamo and ruin a head. That is also the voltage limitation for the device.

Another little problem which i am sure someone else will agree with me on is the way the puff counter shows up when you press voltage up or down. Stays up for about 1 second then lets you adjust voltage. While the screen is active it will also not let you fire the devise so after each adjustment you have to wait for about 1-2 seconds for the screen to turn off. This goes from a mild annoyance to a throw at the wall annoyance in seconds, especially if you are trying to find the perfect voltage for your clearo.

This device can also be used as a pass through device which comes in handy when it runs out of charge, but tbh i doubt i will ever need to use it like this as the battery is 2600mah which is massive :) You can also use this to charge some phones and other devices. Charged my sisters iphone earlier and got about 1 percent a minute average...After 5 minutes.

1 final little teeny tiny spec of an issue is the beauty ring. While the threads are brilliant and the silver finish looks good the size of it does leave it protruding over the side of the device by about 1mm. This wont be an issue for 99% of people but for some reason no matter where or what i am doing i always seen to catch it out of the corner of my eye, like it is mocking me:p

Overall an amazing sterdy device. Well thought out for the most part with a few slight exceptions, namely the time delay between puff counter/voltage and back to vaping. I feel like i could throw this thing down a flight of stairs and have it preform just as it did before. It weights in about the same as a vamo but does feel a wee bit heavier when holding it. It has got an good finish and proforms better than expected. For the price of $45.16 i cant think of a device that would preform as good except the perhaps the VAMO. Overall i give this thing an 8 outta 10 so far.

Nice review, agreed...great box for the money.
Now if you could just fit a bottle in the box and a bottom fed rba up top...:D
Its an awesome size, but the button placement feels like pointing the tv remote to your face. A side button on the mvp would have been killer. Although 2 different button types....Vamo fire button feel is way better IMO.

The fact that the mvp wobbles on the little bottom switch, is ridiculous. How could they have missed such a blatantly obvious annoyance?

Both are stellar for the monies, but 2 different things.

Forgot to mention that bottom switch. It was on my "to complain about list" but when i hit post i had been logged out and my message disappeared. Had to rewrite the whole thing and the second time i just wanted to get it done asap :p

In fairness though it hasnt fallen over on me yet but even still when i set it down and it does its little shake it does irritate me someone. Still an amazing piece of kit for the price. Someone mentioned a kanger v3 protank works well/looks good with the itaste so i think i will invest in one :) Although i tend to drop my PV's alot and i would hate to break a $11-12 dollar tank.

Also i am working on using the foam cutout with some nice wood to make a box that you can slide open and closed. But the foam cut out is a little big so i may just get a sheet of foam and cut the shapes into it. One reason i got it was my mates iphones always ran outta battery at parties while we are playing music off them so i want the box to hold the charger aswell :)

I have two of these and really i'd buy a third or a fourth and may do just that. I hear that Innokin is working on some of the issues outlined in your review here and I think the version 2 is going to be really good.

The box is just so reliable, trouble free, looks good with anything, battery lasts forever that you can put up with these minor flaws. I'm sure its not as consistent on a meter as say a pro vari or other high end device but to me it's not noticeable as long as you are on green. Once the battery hits orange, I recharge anyway.

I got this set from Fasttech and it worked great out of the box. But now it needs charging and I'm having a problem. Its plugged in correctly, yet instead of a steady or flashing red light, mine keeps cycling thru all of them, red, orange, green and it does this for hours and hours. (I plugged it in before I went to bed). hence its been charging for more than 8 hours and still hasn't gone to green. Do I have a defective one?

When you plug it in for charge, it should go green and stay green. Something is wrong with charger/adapter/unit.

That is my post. The fix worked great for me and at least one other member. Please post in that thread how it works out for you if any one tries it. I'm not feeling any love in that thread
