Definitely not normal!! More info please.... How old is it? Has it been dropped or abused in any way (water, kids, pets, terrorist attack, etc.)? What lead up to the "888" display?? I hate to say it, but it might be a goner.....

{MODERATED} But Its about a month old. It has been dropped 1 time and that was from my couch maybe a foot at most. Nothing happened before this. Charged with a differant USB then the usual because the one it came with was broken.
Edit: Does innokin offer a refund/new one I haven't read up on the warrenty

Since you can't do a battery pull to reset it, about the only thing I would suggest is to try to run the battery down until it shuts off. Then try charging and see what happens... Not to rub it in, but I've had my MVP for about 3 months now and it has been dropped on concrete maybe 5 or 6 times, from at least 3 feet up. One time while it was charging and it bent the mini USB port inside the unit. I plugged the cord back in and bent it back to the original position. Mine is still going strong!! Maybe you got a lemon, or maybe I got lucky...

First I hate you and your luck, Second I may be just buying another one because my current vendor hates me because my paypal got hacked blabla anywho paypal reversed some money that I cant pay back till my new debitcard comes in so even if I pay em back he may be pissy so i may just get a new one because the local B&M has a surplus of them.
