After a bit of fiddling it seems to work if I start with the tank disconnected, then slowly screw it down with the itaste firing. It'll vape when the connections meet, but only once then I get green solid light on the itaste, then I have to unscrew and repeat.

Seems the itaste thinks there's a short in the circuit. I'm using a collar on top of the itaste to close the gap around the 510 connection, think I got it with my nautilus aspire (which works fine still). I gave up on the aspire as it's too messy to refill and it leaks all over the place.

Yes.. sorry to be the bearer of bad news. :/ From what I've read, people HAVE put .8 ohm coils, but the limits of the MVP suggest otherwise. The MVP 2.0 has watt (11) and amp (3) limits, and a .5, or even a .8 ohm coil goes past those limits. My guess, is even if it did work at .8 ohms, it wouldn't be putting out what it is set for.

for example, a .5 ohm coil firing at 11 watts would put it at the 3.7 amp range.. which is over the limit. My guess is that it might limit it to 3 amps, which would fire it at 7.2 watts. And all those are "if"'s.

Now, those .5 ohm coils will work for devices that are 30 watts or above.

Cheers :)

I should have read the details before buying. The 1.2ohm range is 12-25 so I guess even 1.2 isn't great for an MVP when the upper limit is 11. The MVP will be replaced soon for something more powerful I think. Any recommendations?
Like others have suggested, the istick 30 is a very tried and proven mod. You get more bang for its price range. If you want to stay with the familiar innokin style, they make an MVP 30 watt mod that will fire around .4 ohms. It is almost twice the price though. There are quite a few mods in the 30-50 watt range. The best thing to do is do some searching, and come back with a list if the ones that seem interested and we can help you weed out the ones not suited for you.
