iTaste vv/vw v3.0 battery will charge but won't heat up

My two month old (and now out of warranty) iTaste vv/vw v3.0 battery will charge but won't heat up. Brought it to the store and the clerk tried it on a couple different tanks, cleaned the connection point etc. and had the same results that I did. Last night before bed I put it on the charger and this morning it would not work. It lights up, I can change the voltage etc. but it will not heat up to produce a vape. Clerk is thinking that maybe there is some kind of loose connection within the unit and suggested that I look online....Hence my reason for finding this forum.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I would hate to have to just throw this in the trash.

try pulling the 510 centerpin up SLIGHTLY. my mvp has ben doing the same after an extensive year of changing tanks on it, pulling the pin up helped

Use a precision screwdriver or nail file to tease/pry the center pin up 2 - 4 mm. so the battery can make contact with your tank's center pin. If you are using a tank with a 510 connector, do the same thing if applicable. A tank's center pin should be the same length as the outer threaded ring.

Be sure to turn it OFF before adjusting the center pin - 3 fast clicks on the VV3. And maybe shoot for only about 1 mm first, and give it a try. It's possible to wiggle it all the way out, and then it probably is trash

And that's a common problem with many of the ego style / size batteries, not just the VV3. We're all taught that electrical connections have to be tight - but in vape world, snug is good!

Can you get a resistance reading from of your topper on the VV? With the VV place your topper on, press both the + and - at the same time, what does it say? Also what is the second reading after checking the resistance? If the VV is fully charged it should read 4.1
Can you, have you tried your topper on a different battery, try a different topper as well. Just want to make sure your topper isn't the issue.
If the VV say NON then it is not making a connection. Try the topper on a different battery (if you have one) does it fire. If yes, then pull the center pin as suggested previously. If it does not fire on a different battery your topper may be bad.

This happened with mine. I tried lifting up the center pin, but didn't make a difference. Fwiw, I gave it to a friend, she's on here...siskysouth. Shoot her a PM and ask how she got it to work again (ask her about her black itaste vv/vw). It had something to do with taking it apart and wires...something that I did NOT want to mess with, and probably wouldn't recommend, but she still uses it.

Everything these folks are telling you is right on. However, Innokins warranty is 90 days. Go to their website and submit a ticket. I did and they called my vape store who promptly replaced my vv V3

P.P.S. Don't overtighten your topper. Just 'til it's snug. If you overtighten, that's when you may push the pin down on the battery

You can try pulling up the center pin, but if the top cap is loose then the ground terminal may have disconnected.

I dropped my itaste vv and after that it wouldn't read the resistance of tanks or and wouldn't fire. The problem turned out to be a broken solder connection between the board in the head and the metal bracket that holds that small board. Pry out the rivets, gently pull off the head (button and silicone gasket will fall out). If the board slides out of the slots in the head, it means that the solder joint between the board and the bracket has broken. Resolder that connection and reassemble. It should no longer read NON despite a tank being attached, and should fire just fine.

Ok, so I'm not nearly as knowledgeable as Baditude but I ran into the center pin problem with my iTaste vv 3, as well. I came up with a quick and dirty fix. I don't know how long it will last but it got me vaping (and therefore not smoking) within just a few minutes. I used a very thin bladed knife to poke down under the center pin (powered off of course) and was able to pry it up. However, this did not solve the problem because each time I tried to screw a new tank on, the pin pushed right back down again. I needed to get something underneath the center pin to keep it from pushing all the way back down again. I took an exacto knife and modified one of the standard rubber gaskets that comes with most atomizers. The top of the gasket already has a hole the center pin will fit through but the gasket is to large to fit under the pin and still allow a tank to be screwed on so I had to get creative. Picture your rubber gasket as a bagel. I used the exacto knife to slice off about 2/3rds of the bottom of gasket. The same way you would use a knife to make an axial cut through a bagel. I slipped the center pin through the hole in the top of the gasket. Pushed down on the center pin to snug things up and then screwed my tank on. The gasket lifted the pin just enough to ensure good electrical contact but still allowed the threads to bite and hold. Again, this probably isn't a great long term fix but it got me out of a jam.
