I rolled in to a new e-cig shop last week. They just opened up about a month ago and my kid really wanted me to check out their selection of Hookahs. The e-cigs caught my eye. First of all some of the setups they had were just plain sexy.
I tried e-cigs several years ago when they looked like the end of a bic pen with a light on the end. More like a toy than anything else (humiliating really) and had four flavors. Regular, Menthol, Strawberry and Watermelon and they all tasted pretty bad. The vapor they gave off was pitiful and I was back to my old smokes within a week.
These looked like something I could really get in to. I totally forgot about the hookahs for a while and was lost in this new world of e-cigs. They had so many flavors to try and after about an hour I had my eGo-CTwist, a couple of tanks and three bottles of juice in varying strengths and flavors. I haven't looked back or sparked a lighter (except to light the coal for my hookah and I only use a non-nicotine gel in that)since.
The vapor is incredible and the taste is amazing. I'm totally in love. Now, I'm spending my nights watching youtube vids on the ins and outs of PV's and learning all I can. I have a condition called CRPS and I'll spare you the ugly details but, I'm now in a wheelchair and prone to severe panic attacks. The vapor calms me (which is why I have the hookah, controlled deep breaths, large clouds of vapor etc). I've been a die hard pack and a half smoker for years and now I haven't touched one in a week.
I vape a 12mg juice in the morning then a 0mg during the day when I find I was just lighting up because I was doing something that triggered me to smoke, cruising the net, talking on the phone etc. When I really need the nicotine, I have a 6mg that I use and if that doesn't cut it I can switch back to the 12. The goal is to get off the nic altogether but, I don't see me giving up vaping. I love it.
Now, to learn how to build a Mod that looks like a sonic screwdriver...Whovians...you know...

It's been 2 months and I'm still in love.

After 37 years of 1.5pad, and trying to quit so many times I quit trying to quit. I haven't touched a cig since I picked up my e-cig. My e-cig rarely leaves my hand. I still can't believe it was so easy.

My son asks me about once a week, "Have you had any cigarettes yet?" And when I smile and say "Nope, haven't even wanted one" with a big smile on my face, he smiles too and shakes his head in disbelief almost as great as mine.

You'll grow to love it even more as time goes on!!!!

Welcome to ECF!
I have been vaping for almost 4 months now and I still am awed by how easy it was to quit the analogs. I use nic to self medicate my Bipolar disorder so I'm not looking to quit completely but just needed a safer way to receive the nicotine. If not, I'd have to go back on pharmaceutical meds and they were horrible. But I have gotten down to 9-12 mg nic and I have found that that is where I need it to stay.
Very sorry to hear that you have CRPS, I have heard that it is a very debilitating disease. There are a lot of caring and friendly people on this site so anytime you need a friend just come here. If you just need to complain or whatever you can always PM me, I usually get on here late evening. Sometimes it helps to have someone to talk too.
Anyways, welcome and happy vaping!

Welcome, and congrats on a week without cigs! Just noticed your location too, nice to see someone else from the area on here! :) While you mentioned being in a wheelchair, if you have someone around who doesn't mind running out, or if you're capable of getting out yourself for any length of time, there's a Volcano B&M probably no more than 15min from wherever you're living. I haven't had a chance to get down there myself, but it could be a nice way to play with some new mods/juices without the gamble of just watching Youtube reviews and ordering blind.

I'm so with you here! It's been 3 days of vaping (3 weeks of research) and I'm also in love! I can't stop talking about how great it is to my wife and friends. I've smoked a pack and a half for 12 years and although I still get analog cravings, one hit off my mod and I'm living the dream and craving curbed! How did I not know of this wonderful vaping world earlier!

My experience was just like yours Mrs. G. I'm shocked too, never imagined quitting would be this easy for me.

I know not everyone has our immediate new BF experience with ecigs. After reading around, I feel so fortunate it was an immediate BFF experience for me (sorry you had to find out this way Mr. Analog ). OTH it does makes one wonder what it is that instantly makes it click for one person while another has a slightly or completely different experience. Because it is different for everyone and to never become one of those hypocritical ex-smokers - we all know the types I speak of - I think one thing us "immediate BFFers" need to keep in mind is how fortunate we are so we are supportive as possible for those who have varying levels of struggle.

This forum...
Finding ECF did this for me. I can't emphasize the wonderful impact ECF has had on my life
TY. TY. TY
What a friendly, supportive, and positive community
Cheers
