Hey guys, I think it's been about 4 years since I last posted, although I've been lurking these forums quite a bit for some time.

Can anyone help me identify what model rba this is? It looks amazing on the Hammer. It looks similar to the Aqua, but different...

Also, if anyone could offer me some advice:
I'm looking to step it up a bit and get into rebuildables. For the last few years, I've been using mostly 510's and various eGo's, with several small mods here and there (MadVapes box mod and a Vaprlife VP). I've never had a VV/VW mod, as I tend to prefer things to be as minimal and straight-forward as possible. For that reason, mechs are very appealing to me. I've been doing tons of research on RBA's, mechanical mods, batteries, etc. and feel like I've got a fairly good understanding now of how to use them safely. I'm not looking to sub-ohm, so I'll probably stay around the 1.5ohm range.

So, which way should I go? Do you think this would be a good setup for someone new to mechs and rebuildables? Should I just go with a kayfun 3.1 and the Hammer? Should I forget mechs altogether for now and get something like a Zmax V3? I dunno...there's almost TOO many options  lol

You can't go wrong with a Kayfun 3.1 but you'll have to buy either a used one or a clone , I favor the HCIGAR 3.1 clone myself , excellent quality clone for the money , if I was limited to 1 device I would go with a VV/VW mod , mechs are fine at home but carrying a multimeter to monitor battery voltage , plus spare batteries plus the mech itself is a bit much for out and about , I know some will disagree but I like a variable power mod for out and about , they're more convenient and flexible especially for dialing in your sweet spot for different juices . I'm not sure about that RBA but it looks like a Kayfun variant to me .

That's a ITHAKA, not for a newbie to RBA's, requires resistive and non resistive wire. Get yourself a kayfun lite+, can't go wrong.

Ah, yes. Thank you! I've heard of the Ithaka. Thanks for the warning too, I'll avoid that one for now. It does look sweet though!

That's kinda what I've been a little afraid of...you're probably right though. As sleek as they look, it probably would be much more of a hassle in reality. I just really dislike the whole "don't-mind-me-while-i-suck-on-this-giant-lightsaber" awkwardness that so many VV/VW mods seem to have going on  But maybe I'd get over that after owning one.

Really appreciate the responses so far. Thanks guys!

That looks like an Ithaka to me. Pretty good advice given so far...jumping to mechs is fine as long as you know how to be safe. If you think you will end up into mech mods anyway, then I would skip VV/VW. I used a ZMAX for couple months then ended up moving to all mechanical. To be safe, just make sure you get good batteries...Sony VTC4/5. They are overkill for something in 1.5ohm range, but it will give you plenty of headroom for building lower once you have the experience. You can also get a kick module to add to any tube with extensions which will give you the safety features of most VV/VW devices. Good luck

Edit: and make sure you get a meter to test your builds :) be safe
