Hey guys, its been a while since I've been able to post!

I think its time to make the leap into RBA's and Mech Mods, I know the basics of them, but I really don't know where to start from...
I've been building coils for my Aerotank and Nautilus clearos, so building coils is not a big deal to me, I check them on my eVic for shorts and resistance beforehand.

I've been looking at 26650 E-Huge Mod (not a true mech) and at a Hades clone which houses a 26650, and thinking of running either one of those with a Kayfun or any other tank style RBA.

Any tips or reccomendations?

Thanks in advance. :)

Personal preference but I like standard mechs that can run in 18650 and 18350. In 18350 they are small enough to be pocketable. On the other hand, clones are cheap so you can buy more than one without bankrupting yourself.

Kayfun with 28g wire and organic cotton is a great place to start. There's also an app called vape helper (android) that will do calculations for you.

Good luck! I think you're going to enjoy rbas.

Yes, I have a spool of 28 gauge kanthal I use for rebuilding my clearomizer coils, so I thought of getting an RBA tank and a mech mod to increase my vaping collection. Would a HADES 26650 mod cope well with a 1.4 ohm micro coil organic cotton wicked?

Yeah, that would work for sure. I give myself plenty of cushion so most of my builds are .8-1.5 ohms for everday usage. I really love my kayfun for everyday use.

I want to get the HADES 26650 and an RBA , what RBA would you reccomend if I plan to use that 28 gauge kanthal and organic cotton?
I'm open to any other suggestions you may have since I really don't have a fixed mind on what I want, just a mech and an RBA/RDA

Read up on all this, lots of great info.I just jumped into mechs and rta's bout 2 weeks ago and I'm loving it.ss sentinal m16 clone and a got 2 kayfuns from 101 vape for $16 ea and they seem to be great .I've been running my coils at .86 and .65 and vapor production and flavor are awesome, though I know from here it seems many run there's at 1-1.4. Also Ive found a horizontal coil and a little more wick to be the only way to keep from getting dry hits. There's a great thread on here with pictures on that method. Anyways good luck and have fun

If you're sticking with Kayfuns then you may want to give one of the DNA30 clones a look instead of a mech mod.

Unless your subohming below .6 ohms the DNA30 clones will provide all of the power you need, and the Kayfuns really don't work well subohming. Plus they have regulated wattage rather than the gradual drop off you get in mechs which means more vaping between recharging, you can recharge via USB so you don't have to remove the battery and can continue to use it while it's charging, and best of all you can push wattages that a mech just can't match.

Seriously, I've used mechs exclusively since January and now I haven't touched one since I got my DNA30 clone about a month ago. Unless your subohming below .6 ohms, it's just better.

Just remember... once you go sub ohming and getting crazy with dual 26650s, you're going to burn up a lot of juice. I was tempted to buy the Congestus mod (clone) but decided against it being that I would spend more on juice in a weeks time than what the mod cost. For me personally, mods like that are useless, being that I vape mostly for the nicotine and flavor couldn't give 2 ---- about massive clouds.

As it's already been said, If you're planning to use a Kayfun you're better off just using any single 18650 mod.

Just grab a copper nemesis, a nice Tobh atty, and a couple Sony VTC5's. Snatch up some 24g kanthal and run a dual 7/8 wrap with it around .3ohm. Sub ohm vaping isn't nearly as technical or difficult as a lot of people make it out to be. As long as the battery has a 30amp continuous discharge rate, you are safe to run coils as low as 0.14ohms with no issues, as long as you monitor your batteries voltage and make sure your not vaping sub ohm coils with less than 3.7v.
