Ok....I've been off the grid for quite awhile, using my 510 the whole time. I started vaping the same time you see I became a member of this forum. Once however I felt I had all the information I needed I didn't spend as much time here as before. I say all this because I'm baaaaaack!! I was smoking analogs for the past year or so (long story) and I'm ready to get back to my beloved vaping. I see that my sweet little 510 has grown up a bit! 510 CE2, 510-T, clearomizers and blank cartridges!!! OH MY!!!

Help me figure out what's what. If I'm understanding this correctly the 510 is or was modified into the CE2 and then advanced into the 510-tank?? The CE2 still requires fluval, the tank doesn't?? Was the battery ever upgraded as well? I have the 510 mega batteries and after all this time, I'm starting to want something with a little more...oomph!!!

I've increased my mg's to 24 and feel that's strong enough but the battery doesn't seem to be giving my the 'hit' I'm looking for.

On top of all this the forum setup has changed as well and I'm still having a hard time navigating around to find the information I'm looking for without spending the next month reading for hours on end.

Can someone help a sista out here?

Okay, the CE2 is a clear tank cartomizer (atomizer with a wick). No filler material in these. They can be a pain. Most of us use a BD brand 3ml syringe and mod them because the clear tubes break. They also come in black and steel. None of them are worth a hoot IMO.

510 tank needs a special t-tank atomizer in order to use it. They both come in 510 and eGo styles.

A regular cartomizer is an atomizer with filler in it. They are together inside a tube. You fill it, keep refilling it, until it either dies or gets hard to draw then toss it in the trash. If the draw gets hard, they can be boiled then baked (or use a food dehydrator) to remove the moister. Then refill and use.

The next step up from the Joye 510 would be the eGo or Riva. These can be found at E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings. If you choose to buy one of these I suggest also getting the following: a couple spare atomizers, drip tip, and a box of Boge cartomizers to try out. I use a cartomizer the most. Easy to fill some up and be good for a few days. I use atomizers and drip tips when I'm at home. I also use these to test new flavors so I don't ruin a good cartomizer with a flavor I don't like.

Ok, so before I totally understood...or rather when I THOUGHT I understood what had advanced I purchased the CE2 clearomizer and a few more of my regular mega batteries from TW. Those haven't arrived yet, but should here in a few days. I do have two TW Tornado PV's and that looks exactly like this Joye eGo you're talking about. Is that in fact the same?

I've been dripping "the old fashioned way" all this time and the idea of filling a tank with 1.2ml's sounds fantastic!! So the eGo doesn't hold anymore than my original 510??

The carts are the same size but a cartomizer holds twice the juice. Tanks hold more also. Tornado's are just rebranded eGo's so you are good there.

CE2's are okay. I just got tired of fiddling with them to try to get a great vape. Some work perfect out of the box and some don't (you're juice may taste burnt which is from slow wicking to the heater element). I prefer Boge cartomizers over most of the new stuff out. Tanks didn't work for me very well, CE2'2 had problems (they are on their 5th revision), and dripping isn't always easy to do especially driving.

Unfortunately, China uses us as lab rats to test out their gear. They read the forums to see how something can be improved while us poor saps are sitting with crappy gadgets to use so please don't get hyped up about something new coming out. Wait and read reviews before making a purchase.

My normal work setup is the following: Riva battery (same as the eGo), boge cartomizer filled with some tasty juice.

At home: a Prodigy V3.1 (this is a modified ecig) from puresmoker.com with a low resistance boge cartomizer filled with some tasty juice.

If you buy low resistance atomizers or cartomizers, DO NOT use them on your smaller batteries. Death will happen.

Low resistance anything shouldn't be used on a proprietary battery period! The MOSFET switch in these batteries (eGo/Riva/Tornado) can't handle the pull of power to operate properly or the heat that they give off. They were designed to be used with a non-proprietary battery mod like the Prodigy. However, alot of people do use them on their batteries. It's strictly on whether or not you are willing to gamble your battery life and have to keep replacing them if they go kerpoo.

SO the Joye eGo-T is what I'm looking for....better battery and more juice capacity. Gosh I love progress! Thank you all!!!

Alot of people like them because they are simple to use. Just pop off the end of the tank that goes into the atomizer, fill it up, put the cap back on, and press it into the atomizers. Wait a minute so that juice gets to where it needs to go and vape away.

Excellent advice. I don't care what it is, it seems like any time one of these new gizmos comes out, within days there are people saying they got it and it's the greatest thing that's ever happened to vaping. Within a week or two, those same people are complaining that they leak or crack or get gummed up with juice or... The CE2s are on what? Their 5th revision?

It kind of sucks but, I will say that at least the manufacturers are listening and reacting. The eGo-T seemed to have a lot of wick placement problems in new attys when it first came out. You don't hear about those as much. The newer tanks have been improved to leak less. So, what we say does make a difference.

I'm in total agreement with you both. When I first got here (and money was tight) I researched for two solid weeks and read months worth of threads telling of this issue or that issue. For me the Joye 510 was a perfect match and I purchased one. I'm still able to use the same one today, WITH I might add the exact same attys. I'm a firm believer that this forum offers an invaluable service in that we all benefit from each others failures as well as successes.

...hence my immediate return to the fold to get back into what I consider the only thing that's ever replaced smoking analogs successfully. :)
