I bought that one on the classies. It was a top-drawer piece of gear in pristine shape.

I am not ready to pull the trigger on one yet but have kept it in my mind for awhile.......wonder if they make a REO with top side button for trigger finger fire.....

top fire button still does not seem rite to me.....got a top fire button on my Smokless owl and really want a top/side button.....

probably when I am ready ROB will make something up for me with a side/top button.........

They do not. All of Rob's work is top button, and has to be. The positive contact is merely a magnet-loaded pin pressing a brass leaf spring down to contact the battery top. He advertises pure mech, and he means it; they are. A side button mod could be built-- I intend to, once I get my house moved and I have time to build a CNC router-- but not with the design of a Reo.

Thx-- I took a look and it looks promising........
one thing I ought to mention, the new prototype notwithstanding: the one thing that surprised me when I go

t it is how small it is. It's smaller than an SX Mini. I have no trouble firing it with my trigger finger-- it's the most comfortable position, actually-- as you can see from the photo. If I have any quibbles, I would have put a delrin sleeve around the firing shaft. Mine, at least, has some slop in it and sometimes gest a bit sticky through not being vertical. And I really do wish Rob would knurl the edges of the button covers as it would be easier to lock and unlock for old people with the rheumatiz. :)

I put button covers on my Reo's so they are easier to lock & unlock, I also prefer the feel with the fatter button. I wasn't sure I'd like the top firing button but have grown to love it & find it easier to use than my side fire buttons.

I have one too. It came on it, and I have left it on there. The increased diameter is helpful and it feels good under the finger. I do wish the side was knurled, though; then I could lock/unlock with one finger. Which leads me to the next question: does the button cap come off? If so, I can file some grooves in it.

Yes, they are just press fit on.
    Pull straight up.

The black delrin button is plain while the anodized ones are grooved & yes you can take them off since they are press fit on. View attachment 520384
Mine has on of the aluminum grooved ones. What I want is grooves in the vertical plane so they would be perpendicular to the edge movement in rotation. But no sweat. If I can just pop it of, I can mod it.
