That is the truth! LoL

When i hear people call my PV that it reminds of when my grandparents would see me on my PS3, and say " your always on that Nintendo game " ( proceeds to shake finger and head ) haha. It's never bothered me i always use it as a reason to spread the word of vaping, and any time i'm able to drop some knowledge on a person i'm more than happy. Great post by the way too funny. vape ON!

Ok... the confusion is they make a product called an E-hookah. It is basically a disposable Ecigarette that uses fruity flavord cartomizers that have very low or no nicotine in them. They are popular with the younger folk because 1) they have no nicotine, and 2) they use sweet fruity flavors. There are companies that make E-hookahs that look and function similar to E-hookahs. For those that are confused...

These are true E-hookahs

These are portable Hookah like items:

These are Ecigs meant to emulate Ehookahs

And these are Ecigs

Ecigs can emulate Ehookahs. They both operate the exact same way. Ehookahs are supposed to use a water bowl. Anything that doesn't, is an Ecig that emulates a Ehookah.

All these are just my opinions.

What if I told you it's closer to hookahs than to cigarettes?

Actually, I'd have to agree. The most glaring similarity is that hookahs use flavored tobacco and the majority of us use flavored juice. Hookahs cool the smoke through a water chamber. Our PV's produce vapor at much cooler temperatures than cigarette smoke. Soyeah, your statement is correct.

SCIENCE TIME!!!!

Water vapor has a cooling effect like a natural air conditioner. Ecigs produce this effect to an unusually high extreme.

The liquid is boiled really fast which turns it into a hot vapor, but by the time it exits the chimney and enters your mouth it's already cooled enough to only feel slightly warm, or possibly already feels cool. You then inhale this vapor into your lungs which are a normal 98.6 degrees, but the vapor continues to cool the air in your lungs.

By the time you exhale the vapor is not only colder than your body temperature, it's colder than the ambient air temperature, even in an air conditioned room. That's why a large, dense cloud of ecig vapor will drop rather than rise when you exhale. It's also a temperature difference that you can feel. Take a large puff from your ecig, hold your hand about a foot in front of your mouth and blow in it. Hard to believe that was boiling liquid just a couple of seconds ago, isn't it?

Ecigs are not close to either. both hookahs and cigarettes work on the combustion principle. Comparing them to Ecigarettes is like saying a steam engine is closer than a combustion engine when comparing it to an electric motor. All three turn an axle, but the whole point of an electric motor is NO BURNING is needed to make an axle turn.

Ecigs produce Vapor which carries Nicotine. The whole idea behind it is to get away from things that burn and to get away from all the addatives that are used to produce tobacco. Hookahs/shishas work on the same principle as smoking. Both burn tobacco. the difference is the cigarette tobacco burns slower and can stay self lit, whereas a hookah uses some sort of coal/smoldering device to burn the tobacco. both use flavor additives, but you have a wider variety with the hookahs. Hookahs also burn more tobacco per inhale, so it needs a water bowl to add moisture and help cool down the smoke. Both cigarettes and hookahs are bad for you since you are inhaling tiny tobacco ash along side the gaseous form of chemicals present in tobacco.

I get un-nerved when people call them E-hookahs. More often than not, people see that there's a liquid inside my atomizers and I constantly hear it being called a "....". When it gets to me, stoop to their level and say "whatever, just drive your mechanical horse home and watch more of your picture box".

I don't really have a problem with people calling it a hookah. What's the real difference? Nicotine levels. That's about it. Essentially they're interchangeable.

It's a pride thing...

Smokers take alotta pride in having QUIT smoking and are now convened around the term e-cig or vaping..

So that's the ultimate source of the grind when people say portable-hookah..

But I think given how rapidly ANTZ are trying to persecute vaping... We should put in the effort to make the distinction clear to all of the novices/ curious bystanders...

^^^this^^^ is incorrect, hookas (when used properly) do not burn the tobacco, if they are then the water in the bowl will take on a brown tint faster than normal, hookah in its appropriate application is a vaporizing device that inspired a surge in interest from the (OTHER STUFF) crowd a few years back to use desktop style electronic vaporizers, the hookah operates on the principle of suspending a coal on a heat conductive membrane (i.e. tin foil) above a bowl made usually of stoneware or some other fired clay, the bowl and the radiant heat from the coal serve to bring the tobacco leaf that has been cured in molasses and flavorings to a temperature that causes the leaf to put off a vapor, the leaves should not burn but become dehydrated and hard.

to address the green highlighted text, the two engines noted are in fact extremely similar as they are both properly classified as reciprocating heat engines that both use the otto cycle, an appropriate distinction for your illustration would be a gasoline engine like in your car vs a turbine engine in an airliner, the turbine engine operates on what is called the brayton cycle where the air is never enclosed in a fixed space that manipulates the volume like your car's combustion chamber rather it is a pressure manipulation using bernouli's principle to raise the pressure and lower the velocity of the air inside the engine in order to combust a fuel and return the air to the atmosphere after extracting the necessary rotational energy (nearly all of it for a turboshaft/turboprop engine) :D

I totally feel you! My 14 year old son, who by the way knows everything keeps on arguing with me calling my battery a hookah ! He rolls his eyes and thinks I'm the stupid one. I explained hookah was for smoking tobacco but he insists on arguing assuming I'm just not with it and I know nothing..! Sigh once more I explained the difference but he downright refused to listen and thinks I just don't know what I'm talking about. Now when he calls it a hookah I just sigh and say whatever, son your wrong. But I can not even though I explained in detail the difference, get him to stop calling it that.! Drives me crazy!

There is an easy solution for this delima ya know. Just do a simple search on google images under ecig and show him, lol. Also, I saw a EHookah for sale on Focalecig. That thing is huge!

Here it is: $39.15 E-Hose Mini Rechargeable Electronic Hookah Kit - Purple

I just grin and then proceed to educate the ignorant.
It all balances out when I get home and my ten year old son says "dad can you use your drip thingy and make a vapor waterfall on the couch please"
Lol, he seems to take after me, we are both easily amused!

My niece likes to smell my vaper when i puff and guess the flavore. She will say "don't tell me, I wanna guess it". She loves the smell of it, lol. She is always like "Blow the smoke to me". lol
