yes ..New Yorkers definitely have a unique accent. My grandchildren were born in the south and they are slightly picking up the southern accent ...her parents are both from pa so they get it from playmates and teachers ...I absolutely love it!!

My parents aren't from the south, so I didn't grow up hearing a strong southern accent in my house. I think my normal speech is fairly accent free (I was a broadcast journalism major!). I do get asked where I am from a lot, and people are always surprised to hear that I grew up less than an hour from where I live now, in a town that is much more rural and southern!

I do have a southern accent and, likely, it's "over the top"... lol It wasn't always that way. When I moved here from California I was stunned at the accents but now, I don't even notice them. That was 35 years ago.

I LOVE that accent. Of all the places in the USA, I could listen to a Georgia Gurl ALL DAY! Sooo cute..

I was REALLY excited about the Five-SeveN! Then I went to a show, and held one. Mang, it does NOT feel, or look, or seem to be built, like a $1,000 handgun. I was SO disappointed. The stamped slide a definite turn off. I get it that polymers are light, but so is Ti. For the money, it needs a more robust build, imho. STILL excited about the ROUND, though. I wish H&K would make a USP that utilized it. Their full size .40 fits my hand like a GLOVE.

I unintentionally pick up the accents of those around me. Apparently, I'm pretty good at it too, I can't tell you how many times I was asked what part of NY I was from when I waited tables with another server from NY.

I've never lived outside of North Carolina, though I do plan to remedy that someday.
