So it's been MONTHS since I've been here... My M402 finally kicked the bucket a couple months ago (batteries are quite dead) and my atomizers finally went (one fried, the other is just old). I got a passthrough, but did NOT like it. It vaped WAY different. On a sadder note, I smoked for 10 days this last week and a half, so I bought a RIVA. . . Holy crap, this thing is awesome.

I guess I should start my "I quit" timer over again. . . :(

I've been thinking about going the moded route. If anything else, it just seems like fun.

Outside of that, I'm still trying to find the perfect juice. Right now I have Vapor Junction's RY4. It is a bit harsh for me, so I've cut it by 1/2 with VG. Seems to be much better now. I think it's a tad TOO caramely for me, but it's definitely quite vapable. My favorites so far are Backwood's Brew Apple Tobacco, and Ms. T's Banana Cream Pie. :D

I like the Riva too especially the SE edition batteries and think they are the best most economical kits out there right now. I too went to the mods for awhile buying a Buzz and an Indulgence but they just weren't for me. The batteries needed recharged to often on the Buzz and it was to much hassle adjusting the voltage. I found the ultimate for me in between the two, the Go-Go. It comes off the charger at 4.2 v similar to the Riva SE and comes with a 1300 mah battery and 3ml carto. The combination makes for an all day device that is the most consistant I've found in 17 months of vaping. I like having my Riva too and still use it for testing my juice flavors and trying out new cartos or attys being as the Go-Go is proprietary.

I got mine from vapor junction, and according to my order, I got the 1100 MaH bats, but the kit said 750... Either way, I'm happy. Yeah, my M402 lasted since July... Good investment. I don't quite have the $$ to buy kits all the time, so as long as mine was working, I never saw a need to get another one..... that and I was out of a job for the last 5.5 months. That's wasn't good for finances. But I'm employed again, so I upgraded! w00t.

The 510's have been and continue to be pretty darn popular! That punch & oompf is probably the atty and one reason Joye 510's have become a a staple---though there are some new forum companies/brands out there making some pretty awesome atty's that fit your 510 equipment. Ikenvape & cisco are the two I know of. Bloog has a new one that is getting raves.

I don't think more oomph decribes many cartos---but someone will disagree. A few brands have become quite popular.

For more heat try 2.0 or 1.5 ohm atty's that are sold a couple of places for your 510 threads.

For more plume--use more VG.

A lot has happened in the past year in the vaping world. There are also tons of new and well thought of US juice suppliers.

Welcome back. Have fun shopping -- btw shop does not have to mean buy!

There are companies making atty's that work with 510 threads------ and are called 510's. I believe the original was JOYE 510. As far as I know, janty, joye, tornado are all identical, same manufacturerl, just different brand names---and there are others. I call that the "staple"----you know, like milk & bread--the staples.

I've heard many great things about the Riva---but techically it is a clone 510 ego as JOYE is not the manufacturer. I've got their pass thru and love it ----may be a different pass thru style than what you had----as it is essentially the same, but you can charge & vape at the same time.

There are several products available that fit 510 battery threads--some are JOYE and some aren't. There are different manufacturers as well as brand names. Your's is a very popular one, the Riva.

The way I get it, in search of better equipment & whatever not only did the Mod Era really take off -- some ECFers got their own line of atty's (and carto's) manufactured to offer some choices and to work toward the best vaping experience. As we are all different, that is a chore!

In any event, Ikenvape & Cisco are very well respected and sell 510's & other models. The lastest production run from Iken was all assembled here in the USA, with casings shipped here from in China. I think I read that Cisco got US components (better wire) and got them produced in China. I'm not sure if that fits into your idea of 3rd party---but I gave it a shot.

Also -- it seems to me that many Mods use 510 threads.

I've noticed most mods and such are 510 threaded. I found this site AFTER I got my 402, and realized that although it's a good choice, the 510 would have been a better choice. After the eGo and Riva came out, I had planned on getting one, but since my 402 was working just fine, I couldn't justify it. But then it finally died, so in a way, i was happy to be able to get the Riva. So far, I'm quite happy with it. I'm curious as to how it will vape with juices I'm familiar with using the 402. Seems I have a lot more stuff to catch up on. thanks for the info!! :)
