Hello Folks!

This might sound a tid-bit newbish but! I need some suggestions on cleaning a 510 atomizer.

Currently, I soak them in 91% isopropyl alcohol for 10-30 minutes. Then I wipe any excess on a paper towel and let them air dry for around 48 hours.

I don't think I'm liking this method because!?!?! - - - when I go to re-soak and reuse the atty, it ALWAYS has this nasty funkball taste. I usually have to dry hit ALOT of juice through just to make it vapable again. AND! I believe I burnt two attys (maybe not from this, even so...) doing this method.

SO!

I understand there are other methods to getting the job done. Water for example. But water takes EVEN LONGER to dry than isopropyl alcohol... and I think I've read something about baking them to dry them? and I've also heard of cleaning them with vodka or something like that? Please! Any suggestions would be most welcome! Please let me know how YOU do it, and please spare no details. I just want to get these suckers clean and dry as quick and thourough as possible. Thank you!

Much Love Levitas

p.s. I am acclaimated to forum edicate, and I have tried a search but I'm apparently no good at typing in correct phrase to get me where I need to be. If there's a nice thread already made out there and you want to point me in that direction, EXCELLENT! Thank you!

Water doesn't matter, you can just drip liquid onto the attie and vape through it til you start getting vapor.

The method I use is using mouthwash. There's a HUGE thread on here about it, and it seems to work REALLY well. I see little black specs coming off all the time.

I soak for 15 minutes, shaking often, then rinse it out well, blow out excess water, drip, and vape away.

It's also not that necessary to clean them extremely often. I usually clean my atties once a week.

So, I can use pretty much any mouthwash? Rinse it with water and blow it out, and I don't have to let it dry?

I don't clean them for any other purpose but to get the previous taste out of the atomizer (well of course to make them perform perfectly as well, but I meant daily or even 2 or more times a day cleaning)

The big thread on mouthwash is about crest prohealth.. I soaked some tonight, letting them sit awhile.. I'll see how they do tomorrow.. they look clean anyway! denture cleanser is another agent that gets good reviews. I've used that and have had good results but I have a friend who says she can taste it afterwards. There are as many opinions on atty cleaning as there are stars in the sky!

here is from another thread in the diy forum
The best dental cleanser to use on attys is - Kleenite - specially made for metal and plastic retainers and removable partials. Works well.

I can definitely verify that mouthwash works like a charm! I can't believe I didn't even have to let it dry! I soaked for 15-20minutes aggitating it through out the time and rinsed with warm water for a minute or two then blew it dry-ish. Dripped and started vaping immediately! Of course, it took a few puffs before it got to it's optimal vaping level but it did indeed effectively rid of the previous taste in the atty.

Thanks alot Dirgon!

***I will also be trying the jewelery cleaning device with vodka in the near future! But at the moment, mouthwash is a win!***

I haven't been having much luck with Iso either. I let a couple stubborn atties soak for 14 hours, blew them out and dried them in front of a fan for a couple hours and they still hit like crap (and taste like crap too). I get almost no vapor out of them. I wonder if its just the atty dying? I'll have to give the mouthwash a shot tonight, got nothing to lose right?

I think I fried 2 attys using iso alcohol. I've tried one atty with mouthwash so far and it worked wonderful. I am currently soaking another one. I've only got 3 left out of 5, lol. I plan on driving out to my local e-vendor and buying a couple of LR attys too, but GP is having that huge sale... LR attys are only $4. But I don't know if I want to wait just to save a few bucks.

Anyways, yeah. Give it a shot!
