While I was waiting for my new Kayfun to arrive, this time from Angelcigs so it wasn't a month, I was looking for info on Ivogo who seems to be a new kid on the block. Scads of reviews on the Ivogo mini but not a single one on the Ivogo KFL+. My needs are a bit atypical, my quest is for a boring, absolutely dependable, all stainless device that I can fill up in the morning and vape till I get home and beyond. Just wind a 1.8 ohm coil and change cotton every third fill and get on with life. My other Kayfun, a cheap chromed brass clone of a V3.1ES, met all except the all stainless part, having a plastic section and non-standard threads so I couldn't fix that. So, when I heard of Angelcigs and delivery of a KFL+ clone in less than a month for $25 I gave it a shot. I was a little worried with no reviews and little history. It came today.
First impressions, out of the box, this is a very nice clone. The machining is first rate (and I've worked as a machinist) it appeared flawless and the finishing showed none of the "hurry up" coarseness you get from high feed rates. It is very well done. The threads are good, the seams matched, it's very crisp. I am impressed with this sample of one. I'm not going to describe a Kayfun, but I will mention that it differs from the real deal in that the airflow screw is _not_ in the bottom, but from the side like the 3.1SE. It also doesn't have the deep well for filling, just the flathead screw. I cleaned it up, it did smell of machine oil, and the airflow port is pretty small. I ran a drill bit through the passages as part of the cleaning and made a mental note that I might drill these out a bit after I decide if I like it. I built it with 8 turns of #30 on a #50 drill bit and cotton. Filled it up and it works just like a Kayfun. No muss, no fuss, no leaking, no gurgling, lots of tasty vapor, just what I would expect. Like I say it's a sample size of one, but it's a really good one. The draw was a little tight, but I removed the airflow control screw and it's fine now. I'm pleased. Just thought I would share. I have no relationship with Angelcigs, but I like their business model. Especially the reasonable delivery from a CA warehouse.

Ordered on the 7th arrived here (MN) yesterday. A lot better than ordering from China and waiting 2 or 3 weeks with erratic and often non-existant tracking.
Pretty much vaped it all day and it's getting even better. I find cotton does that, it breaks in and mellows a bit. Someone asked about the center post, I did have to adjust my nemesis clone contact up a bit, but very little and I found a setting that works for everything including the protanks that don't like connector pressure. This does not have an adjustable contact like my 3.1ES clone.

I don't have a Russian. The airflow was pretty tight for my tastes before I set it up, but wasn't bad once I made sure all the passages were open. Removing the screw didn't make a lot of difference, but it won't get lost in a drawer. It's fine now but I might do some drilling if I want it a little lighter. The center tube has a fairly small ID so it would be hard to change it much. What seems tight dry seems quite a bit more open when you're actually vaping it. It's about like my other kay fun after I adjusted it, so i let well enough alone.

I have one (kf3.1ES) and I like it just fine, it's really large, so I'll probably use it around home. Mine also had only the plastic tank and isn't a 1:1 clone so the accessories available don't fit. It's a chromed brass one so they (properly) used larger threads in the softer metal. But it works fine, I just don't like the plastic for the daily commute and work, I already broke a protank. All the kayfuns are getting to be old news so only the "new" items are making excitement. I'm sure _all_ the models are still selling well because there are new clones coming out.

Does anyone know why there's no love around here for 3.1 is it bad?

I personally prefer the 3.1. I use two in rotation constantly. To me the two part base is preferable...less prone to leaking and no whistling at all, basically a silent vape.
I do have an authentic Russian91 I use on occasion but I don't go out of my way to build it... it is a harder to "tune" if you will.
The extra centimeter in size is not an issue for me.
I have bought Russian clones (KFLs) from slotek but have given them away...I guess they are OK... but need to be heavily modified (air intake type stuff)
If I hadn't started with the 3.1s ...who knows, maybe I would never know the difference.

glad to hear you like the 3.1 hopefully when mine arrives I will like it to. right now my Russian 91 is my favorite I can't imagine the 3.1 replacing it but if it does that's awesome I will buy 2 or 3 more.

I ordered from Angelcigs.com what a nightmare..... 1) so I order a Russian 91% I get it and realize that the top cap isn't machined to allow for the oring to be placed flush which air locks the unit (probably the most important part of a Russian, Kayfun) also one of the juice wells shows a partial cut out incomplete milling ..... I email she/Amy sends another out 2) I recieve the replacement to find that the airhole with the grub screw doesn't connect to the other L shape milling incomplete! Also the first one was media blasted the second polished stainless steel? Both Russians........ I was requested to provide pictures. I did so and was reimbursed.
Off topic but all of this is one order the trident clone v1 I recieve it try to attach a coil the post that is cut to allow for the wire snaps off unable to use screw cap. I complain show pictures long story longer...... I have 3 tridents with broken posts 3! Finally the Nemesis I look at it and see that the logo or angel has dots or dashes like the mod got away from the holder and well dashes lead from the tail all the way around the tube very noticeable pictures requested, presented (these dashes couldn't have happened in my care because it's engraved and dyed black?) reimbursed once again...... so I have had a very unique experience with Amy and angelcigs. I really can't complain! I didn't pay anything for these clones/defects and they might come in handy for spare parts....so customer service is awesome Amy you are the best..... just buyer beware!

I've gotten 2 of these Ivogo KFL clones. Neither one works. The contact screw in the middle of the 510 threading is a hair too short so it won't make contact with the firing pin of any of my mods. Anybody else had an issue like this before? I've tried messing around with that screw connector but if i loosen it even a hair the positive mounting block comes loose and I can't keep the coils secure.

FYI if it needs a new 2 part center pin go to fatdaddy vapes they have awesome prices and parts for the Russian..... Sounds like a cheap ez fix! Check them out. I saw the Russian 91% adjustable center pin yesterday so I know it's in stock!

.... I just got mine and it looks like that center pin isn't flush... recessed I already can tell it won't work on my mod either dammit!

Try it out first, sometimes these things may surprise you.

I put a small o ring on the center pin of my tobeco kfl+. It now sticks out a little bit, where before it was almost flush and I don't see how it could possibly ever leak through the 510 connection onto my battery ever again (this happened to me once)...

yep doesn't work it's recessed and not flushed... what a huge fkup sounds like they are all like this too... that's unfortunate because the machining and everything else seems top notch even the airflow..... I can't even loosen the center pin screw
