For those wondering what they looked like. I didn't like the feel of my polished tumbled and it gathered scratches as easily as fingerprints so I ordered a silver carbon fiber from J-wraps.

It went on easily but be forewarned it doesn't cover the back corners so you'll need to start the wrap flush with the side. Also, if you use the bottom piece you will, at some point, need to cut a hole for the spring screw.

All in all I like it. I believe it will last until my next theme adjustment (which seems to come every two to three weeks).

I like it. Wonder how well it lasts.

It's nice solid vinyl. I have one on my Provari that has seen heavy use and still looks like the day I put it on.

However, the juice (MVP Black Licorice) I'm using started to melt the finish on my copper vein so I'm hoping this wrap holds up.

The used Grand I recently received has a black cf wrap on it. Its got the square corners, seems to fit nicely. Hasn't seen a lot of use by me, but feels really tough and well adhered to the mod. Don't know what the Grand looks like "Raw" and won't find out till the wrap wears out.
Only weak spot I can see is left side of the squonk hole and is barely becoming distorted.

Crash, is your Grand the older ones with the square corners, like it says on the jwraps site?

i have a newer copper vein and was thinking a wrap would prevent discoloring

Mine has rounded corners. I'd hate to cover up that copper vein. J-wraps sells clear wraps but I didn't see one for the Reo. They will do custom work though. Not sure how a clear wrap would make the copper vein look though.

Hmmm, I don't know. I don't mean to be disrespectful, but it kinda reminds me of those stickers on the backs of cars... why mess up an already good thing:confused:

I gave the reasons but I'll reiterate for clarity.

This is a tumbled raw which means there is no paint. It's just naked aluminum. I polished it to a mirror finish which looks amazing as long as you never touch it again. Scratches and fingerprints show very easily and you can't just clean it and polish it again as getting the scratches out requires sanding with fine grit sandpaper. It's a time consuming process. In addition, the mirror finish also made it feel slimy due to the oils from my skin. I was constantly wiping it down.

So...I'm not actually covering up the Reo. I'm covering up the fingerprints and scratches on the surface of the Reo. :)

Just a FYI - I also ordered a j-wrap for my anodized silver Reo Grand. Have not received it yet but most likely will be here on Monday. After emailing the company I asked them if they make the j-wraps for the VV Reo's. I was told they do not because they did not have one to make the template for it. I sent my Reo VV in to them so they can take measurements and specs so they can start selling the wraps for the VV Reo's. So those should be available shortly. I am anxious to get my wrap for my Grand to see how I will like it. I ordered a carbon fiber wrap in purple because I have a new drip tip that is a purple/pink swirl. Now hopefully these will be available for Reo owners of the Grand and Variable Volt Grands that have worn well loved/used Reo's to make them look new again. Unfortunately I do not own mini's to send to the company to make wraps for that size!

That's extremely generous Mr. (or Mrs. as the case may be) Yooper. I'm really enjoying the feel of the carbon fiber. Also, the color changing snake skin wrap is a dark purplish-blue if you're looking for that kind of color. Nothing like what it looks like on the website.
