Rollins found out immediately after the vote that the city's smoking ordinance may be adjusted.

Mayor Sonny Posey asked the Council to review recommended revisions to the ordinance submitted by Barry J. Riddle, the director and policy coordinator of the Community tobacco Prevention Program, a branch of the Alabama Department of Public Health.

The changes are related to private clubs, smoking rooms in hotels, smoking by actors as part of a stage production, designated smoking rooms in any place of employment and allowing smoking at private functions in public facilities.

Don't know if e-cigarettes are in the approved ordinance or potential amendments.
