Howdy. My names Joe and I've been vaping for about 5 months now, and have been all over this forum as a troll for a good bit. I've probably become more addicted to vaping than I ever was to smoking analogs, but I have no intention of stopping this.

It started about two years ago. I had only been smoking for about 2 years at that time which is a bit humorous. I had been very against smoking my entire life, and I think that was due to my mother's genius idea when I was about 6 and tried to grab her lit cigarette. She started to scold me "Joey! Don't touc..." and decided to let me. "Go ahead. Try it." So, not wanting to seem like a puss (boys will be boys I spos'), I did. And choked. Quite a bit. That was an extremely efficient way of keeping me away from smokes until I was about 19. I had smoked cigars on occasion from the time I was 15 when my uncle gave me, and the 3 other best men at his wedding, all a cuban cigar and a gold zippo with our initials etched into them. I loved it. Mostly the zippo, but it was later eaten by my step fathers dog... but that was enough. I grabbed a pack of cigarettes while I was out one night, had a couple and it was on. I started dating my amazing girlfriend Mallory just before that (who might have a cigarette at a party now and again, but never more than one) and it was just after that, that I started smoking seriously. She didn't care for it, needless to say. I had swine flu for the week, and the week proceeding, my 21st birthday. Almost managed to kick the habit then but I went back. It was that Christmas that Mal decided to buy me an ecig.

That was the little guy. An envy bliss. The little guy came in a nice little faux cigarette pack with a charger and a pack of cartridges with menthol flavoring. It was short lived. Extremely, aha. Christmas day, about 15 minutes into using the little guy, I decided I was going to go down to the gas station to grab some beer and energy drinks (my true killer...the caffeine...). My mother, sister, and myself always left our smokes just outside our apartment door on our little trash box that we never used. Out of habit I left the little guys faux pack, charger and cartys still inside, right next to my pack of camels. Brought the little guy himself with me only to return to find my cigarettes, my mother's cigarettes, and the little guy's box had all been taken. I was more than a bit annoyed, but it was christmas, and I had beer. It was short lived. I didn't pursue a new charger. Little guy went in a drawer where he stayed for couple years.

Earlier this year I received a DUI. Like a dip....., I know. No damage or anyone hurt. Just busted outside the pool hall. Welp, I did my 24 hours in jail itching for one of the smokes that was with the rest of my belongings. I had just paid $9 dollars for a pack of marlboro reds out of the vending machine in the pool hall not 15 minutes before being taken in. And not 2 steps out the front door of the jail, I pulled those bad boys out and smoked one. The nicotine hit me hard and I immediately knew I wanted to quit. I needed too. I was smoking nearly a pack and a half a day and my excessive DUI fines weren't going to allow for the 75+ dollars a week I'd be spending on smokes. I got home around midnight, and started looking into more carts for the little guy. That's when I found ECF and all the crazy cool devices that are out there. Rather than ordering replacement carts, I did a bit of research and decided on a Boge Leo. Being a snobbishly proud Leo with the constellation tattooed down my left side, it seemed like fate.

The big guy with a 510 adapter and nova tank. Felt like I was stylin'. :rickroll:

It served me well. I ordered some johnson's creek menthol and some peach when I got it and was hooked. I didn't smoke again from that day. The leo still holds up strong, but decided that the standard cartomizers I was using at the time, and the little bottle of juice I had to carry with me to work, were too cumbersome. I wanted something that needed little maintenance and would get me through my day without fail. Looked into bottom feeders, battery sizes, and found myself sinking further into the rabbit's hole. Ordered my Vmod XL 3 months in.

I've loved it. It does everything I need...except swap flavors easily. =P It's perfect for work, though. Tough little sucker has survived a few drops. But now it's time to move up, yet again. I want a GG so badly, or maybe an Empire mod. But that seems a bit far away with the waiting. I'm still going to try for either of those 2, but until then I should be good with my Vmod.

I just need more carts/attys...

...these flavors aren't going to vape themselves. :p

Thanks very much for being here, being so informative, and most of all, helping me stay analog free.

Great story Joe! Scary how those analogs getcha. From not much at all to a pack and a half per day. Looks to me like you learned a LOT of good stuff judging by the pictures! And your wish list will arrive sooner than later, because for all us vapors that seems to be the case regardless of what our wallet is telling us. Lol

Oh yeah. Working down at the Wally World, I found that they hike the prices of their smokes even more. Nearly $7.50 a pack even for cheapies. They try to say it's because they don't agree with smoking, but want to offer them regardless. No issue with giving people great deals on booze...

I can recall being in NYC a few summers ago, getting off the subway after leaving the airport and hitting a little stand for a pack of newports. When the guy told me it was $12 dollars I just said "Oh, no, just one pack", "That is for one pack" o_O

Later ended up on a street corner having a smoke when a gentleman approached me and asked to bum one. Gave him a smoke and the guy looked at me like I was the savior. Thanked me 5+ times and went on his way. Not 5 minutes later, a police officer approached me and asked for one too. Shared one with him as well, he asked where I was from and we shot the .... for a few minutes. He put out the smoke and dropped it in the drainage grate on the street, then turned and said "You're not from here, so I'm gonna let ya slide, but you cant smoke just anywhere here. There are designated smoking spots everywhere. Thanks for the smoke." Off he went. Got a good chuckle out of it. =P
