Should be safe to say that everyone knows smoking cigarettes is unhealthy, dangerous, and well, lets just call it what it is... Lethal. I like everyone else knew this. Even so I was an avid smoker of Camel Wides. I saw a short blurb on E Cigs in a magizne. I did some quick browsing on the site it mentioned and it was all so confusing, drip tips attys e juice flavorings PG VG... and I went right on smoking Camels.

One day I saw a 21st Centry Disposable in a case on the counter as I was bying my smokes. A few days later i went back and bought it. I opened the pack not knowing what to expect really, and to be honest it left alot to be desired, but it started me thinking... they are actually on to something here. It simulated smoking okay I suppose. It definately could have tasted better, but I did not want a regular cigarette while it was working. Then the batt died about a day later, and I was back again to smoking Camels. I began doing some more research and then it happened.

I aquired a 510 starter kit from Brand Diablo. Not a bad kit, The tobacco juice was not exactly like the cigarettes I was used to but it was okay, a little sweet in my opinion. I also got some cherry juice, and ended up blending them togheter which made it alot like a cherry cigar which is okay with me. The problem came with having to carry it all around at work. I got a case for it and the filled carts would leak in the case, Maybe I over filled... but I did not think so. I filled them to the point the video reivews I had seen said to fill them to, and used the number of drops recomended by the company. They also had a Cartomizer which i really liked. The problem is they came pre filled with the Tobacco Juice and I had to vape it down a bit before I could cut it with the cherry to get the flavor I preferred. WHen i consistantly used it i did not want a Cigarette so I suppose it is worth looking into more.

I again was back at the computer researching and found Prime Vapor. I liked the idea of the two piece system even on the 510 with the Cartomizer. Prime Vapor had several different tobacco flavors which I liked the idea of. I broke down and oreded a batt a PCC and a sample pack of cartomizers. It arrived and it also is not a bad kit by any means. The PCC allows me to carry it at work more easily, and the 555 flavor carts are very nice. It is a KR808 system and I ahve been researching other cartomizers that i can use. The drawbacks for me are that the carts end up tasting burnt after a bit as I have not gotten used to refilling yet. not the most simple to re fill either, difficult to determine when the thing is full. Alos the battery length is a bit long for my liking. But over all when I was consistantly using it I did not want a Cigarette. However I ran out of carts before re ordering and found myself back at square 1... smoking cigarettes:(

I then decided to THOROUGHLY research e cigs and found the ECF. I read many posts starting with the beginners section and reading all the tips and rules and lingo and what not. I read and read and researched and read some more. After reading post after post and review after review and checking out the various items available out there I placed another order. I currently have on order a Bloog Maxx Fusion kit. It has not arrived yet, but is estimated to arrive tomorrow:laugh: so hopefully I have as of yesterday purchased my final pack of analogs. Any advice on better vaping from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to ECF, Dragline!

I'm new to vaping, too, and I've gotten a LOT of great advice and information on here. I have a Riva 510 and love it!! I had to learn to refill frequently when I'm chain-vaping to avoid the nasty burned-plastic taste. Yuck!

I haven't totally cut myself off of the analogs yet but I'm pretty proud of myself. I've bought a total of 5 packs since the first of this month...it may seem like a lot but I was smoking just over a pack a day. I was told that it's not how many analogs you smoke but how many you DON'T smoke. I like that.

Happy vaping and have a marvelous night!

I've been using the rive 510 for about 2.5 weeks now. When i went into this it was mainly to save money. I had to make it work for me, because i couldnt afford both analogs and the e-cig supplies. I find that as long as i have it with me and its working I'm happy. I smoked 1 cig a day for the 1st 7 days until i finished off my last pack. I've bummed maybe 2 since then when i had a battery failure / user error where i someone managed to kill both of my battieries in 5 minutes. Theres defenitely a bit of learning that goes into making it work properly for you, thats for sure. But if, me the guy who didn't even want to quit soming can do it i think anyone can. Last cigarette i had tasted like crap and left me feeling unsatisfied. Good luck!!

Dragline,

Welcome and congratulations for getting this far. It sounds to me like you're well on your way. It's definitely easy to succumb to info overload here as there are hundreds of variations when you consider model, cart and atomizer or cartomizer, hundreds of juice options, and then the mods. But if you continue reading and ask questions, the good folks here will be happy to help distill it down for ya.

My girlfriend and I went from a pack a day to 1-2 analogs a day when we got our Joyce 510 starter kits. I have just over a pack of analogs left, and have no plans buying more when they're gone. I ordered PPC's and a few spare attomizers and a couple bottles of juice. the carts are more of a pain to refill constantly but I'm not really sold on the concept of cartomizers and not ready for mods yet. (though I saw a couple threads on cart mods that looked interesting.)

Within a couple days we had her sister in law using a 510 variant with a cartomizer, and a few days after that we were all ordering juice samples from Gourmet Vapor. The various discounts offered are a big help. Of the 13 bottles we ordered, I can't think of one that I don't like. Some, like the vanilla are better than others... been vapeing that for 2 days straight, but I'm quite happy with them. I could go on but I'm digressing...

From what I've read, cartomizers are more challenging to refill, but hold more juice. If it's problematic, you might consider trying a cart & atomizer for a 3 piece unit. You should be able to order parts to fit your existing gear. Regular carts require more frequent refilling but one will last 2-4 analogs worth and refilling's a snap. You can also order blanks and fill with whatever you like. The trick from there is finding a juice that satisfies you. The amount of TH, nicotine and vapor preferred varies from person to person. If you order samples in 3-5ml bottles, you can get a good variety to try w/o spending lots to find what you like. Once you get more comfortable you can even adjust what you have as a prelude to mixing your own. ie: Some add a little more VG for more vapor, or PG or grain alcohol (or vodka) for more TH. My last order for example, was mostly 5ml bottles with varying percentages of PG/VG. I'm pretty happy with a 70/30 PG/VG blend. But that may change once our Rivas arrive.

I'm still pretty new, but learning new things daily. Happy to help if I can. Glad you found us.

Vape on!

just got my MAXX FUSION today..... It really is as good as they say!

Even better when you find your juice sweet spot on your carto refills -- !

The MaxXfusion arrived yesterday... I'm going to post some initial thoughts soon. Then after using it a while follow up on that. Hope all is well in vapor land. Happy Vaping.

I'll be looking for your impressions - to date, other than this and my 808 PT (which just fried... new one on order... NON-bloog) - I haven't needed or even desired an analog - can I ask which flavored pre-fills you got, if any?
