I don't mean to put anyone down that likes these flavours, but I was not impressed. I started off with a few nic-less coffee and virginia flavor cartridges that came with my 510 and those flavours were pretty weak so i thought the lack of nicotine was what was missing. So i ordered the Johnson Creek liquids and it wasn't the answer. I've quit smoking for a couple of years now so I was looking for the sensation/feeling and satisfaction of habit more than the nicotine. I'm vaping this on a 510 manual battery with stock cartridge+poly fill. I also tried one cart with the teabag and no difference between them in taste.

Johnson Creek - Vanilla Ice-Cream, 11mg PG
-tastes like eating a cigarette a bit. The vanilla flavour/odour is not very noticeable and the main detectable flavour is the tangy/bitter taste of nic (not tobacco but nic). I liken this taste most closely to chewing tobacco which I tried once and didn't like much.

Johnson Creek - Mint Chocolate, 11mg PG
-tastes like eating a cigarette with the aftertaste of a mild mint. The odour was much more pleasant and detectable than the vanilla, but still mainly tasted like the chewing tobacco.

Johnson Creek - Tennesse Cured, 11mg PG
-I actually haven't tasted this yet, but I can only assume based on its odour from the bottle that it tastes much like the above, but without the aftertaste or flavor odour.

Has anyone else experienced the same thing with JC flavours and can tell me if other brands have the same problem? I may be wanting to trade liquid with someone in the GTA Toronto area or maybe straight sell this stuff off. I bought three 30ml bottles so I guess I'll have this stuff for a while if I don't trade them out. I may even be interested in trading for non-nicotine liquids if someone confirms that all liquids taste like chewing tobaccs. :)

Strangly enough, I can say this about the nicotine liquids and the chewing tobacco both, but the sensation is almost like having someting crystalize in my mouth. Strange.. this isn't so with an analog.

I was about to call BS all over this thread for many reasons but with the coming of the second post I am now curious as hell because this specific brand has been praised to a point where it is almost holy to some people.

Can anyone else chime in to verify that their juice has changed? I just placed a starterkit/sample pack order yesterday and dont need any additional unnecessary anxiety over unreasonable expectations...

Take care,

I am pulling for JC it's a US company and I really hope they find the right combination in their liquid.. I didn't have a good first impression with the two bottles that I purchase from them one had no flavor to it, and the other one lost flavor after starting off great, the bottles were not marked so not sure what I got , am sure it was the old formula if they have currently come out with a new one.. I haven't ordered from them again and have not had the same experience with the 3 other companies I have ordered liquid from. Always keep an eye on the forum would like to feel confident that there is a consistancy in their formula to try another order..I would like to support them for being a US company with a great liquid.. All I can say I hope the day will come for JC !!!!

Hawst--it has changed so much it is not even the same product--but if that is what it takes for them to pass lab results---so be it and i will suck it up. They removed all the tobacco products from it and use synthetic nicotine--all pharma grade PG and VG and the base is now vanilla extract. So they are planning ahead for regulation. I will get used to these new flavors.

Great info! Thanks for taking the time and sharing that as there is a lot of writing on the wall there as well as distant insight. ;)

I have something to add. A few hours later I had the idea that maybe the juice seperates in the bottle or maybe I just wanted to shake something, but I gave the 30ml bottles of juice a good shake then filled several more carts.

I don't know if the shaking helped, or the several rum cocktails, or if I'm acclimating myself to the taste but the vanilla and mint choco are becoming more pleasant. I'll restate/update my review if I can confirm this made a lasting difference.

My advice is to shake your juice and see if that makes a difference in flavour if you're not happy with what you get....

I ordered from JC, when they had all their original flavors. Out of the 10 flavors I received, I really liked 4 of them. Vanilla ice cream, Kona coffee, peach, and Tennessee cured. I ordered the vg formula, and they tasted good, and put out an awesome amount of vapor. So, I ordered 2 bottles of their new vanilla, and the new mint which I can't comment on, because it's not mine. I am at a loss for words, at how disappointed I am with this new version. I got it in high strength full pg. There is absolutely no taste of vanilla, and the vapor production is pathetic. When I first tried it, it tasted like a weaker version of their Artic mint, so I thought maybe I was burning the cotton. I topped off, making sure everything was good, and tried again. Almost no vapor and the same horrible taste. I really don't know if they mislabeled the bottle, but I did email them regarding this. I really do hope, that it's a mistake, because I really want to support companies from the U.S. I'm so bummed right now.

I ordered 3 bottles from JC a couple of weeks back. The liquid was too thin and flooded my atomizer. I just cut my juice with VG and now its much thicker, and have no more atomizer issues. The flavors that I bought were French Vanilla, Black Cherry, and Mint Chocolate. I like the French Vanilla as a good base for my own mixtures (french vanilla cheesecake!). The Black Cherry is great, and don't have any issues with lack of flavor in my batch, even cut. I am not a big fan of Mint Chocolate, but my girl enjoys it.

My advice is to shake your juice and see if that makes a difference in flavour if you're not happy with what you get....

If you're not happy with it, send it back, they will pay the shipping cost, and perhaps their bottom line will take a hit to the point where they up their QC. I wasn't happy that I got thin juice, but found a work around, and voiced my concerns. Good thing I bought the high nic stuff.

I am all for supporting U.S. companies until they change their product to something I don't want. Then I support companies that still make what I want.

Johnson Creek had a great product ( and I'm still vaping what I have left of the old line ) but instead of standing up and being proud of their great product they changed it for the FDA because they believed wrongly that the FDA only cares about tobacco products when the nicotine is just as much in their domain.

Johnson Creek loses either way

Try the Janty and AlternaSmokes juices. My favorite Janty is rum which I do not see there any longer. Cappucino is also great. AlternaSmokes Sweet Plum is excellent, as is the blueberry.

This frustrates me as well. In fact, because of the limitations place on the FDA in the recent tobacco bill, the FDA probably has considerably more control over nicotine as a drug than nicotine as a tobacco product.

However, I haven't tried the new line, yet. I'm waiting on the VG stuff and I'll probably try a sampler. They changed both my favorite flavors completely, though. :(

The old JC was much better. They destroyed the Tennessee Cured and Original Tobacco. The new ones are horrible and not even worth the bottles that they come in. The Espresso went bad after just a couple of days!!! Black Cherry and Chocolate Truffle are ok, but sill not my type of liquid.

I also agree with Sun... if they did it to comply and be able to stay in business, well at least we know that they are U.S. Base and we know what they are putting in their liquid.

I am curious to see what the new flavors are going to be.

I can't speak to the other flavors, but my boss just got some JC "Chocolate Truffle" in. I tried it and I'm in heaven. It's 24 mg nicotine; packs a great throat hit, and is smoky/spicy and velvety. Not overly cloying but definitely chocolate-y. Nice finish/aftertaste. I was forced to relieve him of some of it in that handy mini-dropper JC sends along. Mmmmm!
