Hi and welcome to ECF. Those PT's with the inline battery can be a pain sometimes. Try removing the battery and then replacing it. Then let it charge a while and it might work. I remember reading a post about this around 6 months ago. It seems as though there's something in there that causes problems if the battery is completely dead. Also, are you sure your atty or carto is good? If you have another one try it. You could also try another usb port, or if you have one, a wall adapter. Other than that it could be doa.

USB hub - what was the USB hub connected to? A PT needs more power than a PC USB or battery charger AC to USB can provide. If you don't give it enough power it won't work or will work badly. Use a 2amp max USB to AC adapter or a USB to AC that is sold as for the PT. Note - there do exist some USB hubs with their own power supply and one of those might provide enough power.

Also - if the PT is manual (with a button) and you are not used to manual, then you need to press the button during the drag. You can press one second early and let up one second or so early to get the best vapor.

The PT's with the inline battery can be run from a usb port without overloading it. It's just charging the battery and runs at 3.7v at a lower amperage rating. The ones without the inline battery do require higher output than most usb ports can provide.

Good point about the button though dormouse, I didn't even think about an obvious solution like that.
