Oh my, this thread is making me nervous. I ordered a Joye 510 and it will arrive Tuesday (tomorrow is no mail due to holiday). Now I'm feeling that I made a mistake because I do NOT want to be recharging a battery every hour. So should I get a "mega" battery, and does that need a different charger? I want a simple, easy-to-use set-up, but I also want something that works well. Please help with your experience and expert advice!

can you use a double coil cartomizer with a joye 510?

Dual coil cartomizers generally have two coils in parallel at 3 ohms or so, each. That makes the overall impedance around 1.5 ohms, which smaller batteries are not designed to handle. I wouldn't go lower than 2.6-2.8 ohms on any 510-style.

The eGo/KGO/Riva styles that are 650mah or above have bigger batteries that can handle that level of amperage, though.

For those that don't like the battery life of the 510s, the eGo-style 650mah batteries aren't all that long, just wider. They have a cone that makes the transition between the battery and normal 510 attys/cartos look nicer. The 1100mah batteries are obnoxiously large, but I only charge mine once per four days or so...

I wouldn't do anything until you get your kit and see how it goes. when I first started I was still smokings cigs...the first day I went from 40+ cigs to 20 cigs a day...within a few weeks I was down to 2 cigs a day. in the beginning I used one joye 510 (with my cigs) all day without charging. now I carry 3 of them around with me all day and only charge once a day. (see my previous post above). I consider myself a chain vapor, but I'm not sure that's really correct. when I watch a video of a vapor their hits are always a lot longer than mine. what I am trying to say is it depends on your vaping style. see how it goes for you before you buy more stuff :) the joye mega should use the same charger (but I would ask your vendor), just make sure they are joye and not an off brand (new joyes have a logo on them). everyone please note that this thread started in 09, although I'm not sure joye 510's have changed much in that time!

I don't know if that is a good idea. the joye 510's are pretty cheap, I think you should just get new ones!
however, you could search the forum for "disassemble" and see what comes up.
