I have had my 510 for a few months now and I just love it. Only trouble is that its begun leaking in the last week. There is still a possibility that I am overfilling the carts, but lately I have not even been filling them to the top of the fluval for the "pooling" one should look for.

It is really annoying because it gets all over my fingers when holding the 510, and also because I believe e-liquid can destroy a battery if the liquid gets into an unsealed battery. Any help?

I have found that a 510/Dura will take EVERY opportunity to leak if you allow it regardless of how much or little liquid is in the cart.

I find that it will ALWAYS seep out someway as long as any part of the atty is touching a surface. The trick is to lay it on its side on the edge of something. If the atty, where it connects to the battery or cart is not touching anything it won't leak.

It's a very annoying issue that was kinda fixed with the Ego. that cone that threads over the atty keeps your fingers clean and free from nic juice for sure. When I unscrew it to change a battery there is always juice all over where the atty meets the battery though.

I've only had leakage issues with my 510 when my cart filling wasn't appropriate for my niquid viscosity. In other words, thinner niquids require denser cart fill; thicker niquids need less fill.

In my experience all leaking issues are 1 of 2 things: either I overfilled or my cartridge fill isn't right for the properties of the niquid.

I find that on my 510's the leaking happens when the atty is flooded. It gets flooded on mine when I use the different filler mods and store the assembled pv an incompatible way between vapes.

This is what I currently do to minimize/eliminate leaking.

Blue Foam Mod likes to be stored with the cart down.
Scotty's likes to be stored with cart down.
Cig filter likes to be stored batt down.
Stock cart filler generally doesn't care but I store them cart down just to be sure.
Dripping...mmmm...depends on how exuberant I am with adding the juice before I have vaped what is in there already.

I use the 510 with manual batts and so there is no hole for the juice to run into and I do wonder about the button, however.
Sometimes I think I vape too quickly and get steam moisture. My solution is to have several different pvs going with different flavors and take turns with them.

Vape On!!!!!

Thanks everyone for all the very valuable information. I believe my issue is a combination of a few things that you guys mentioned.

I use Halo eliquid which is VG and thicker. Also, I am using fish fluval, the type that is VERY porous, almost like a sponge rather than the original filler that come with most carts.

I think it was a combo of more porous filler, filling the cart too full and not once have I blown out my atty. Just blew it out long and hard for about 30 seconds and at least 4 drops came out of the atty alone.

Going to give it a try now! thanks again everyone.

thanks gatherman, my issue is that the liquid is leaking into the battery and all down my hands. I blew out the atomizer but now I firmly believe it was a combo of too full and the filler I use. The filler isn't the most dense but its also what allows for good throat hits and feeling like you are sucking a bowling ball through a straw.

I've had this problem since I started with the 510. I also had some liquid come out of the cart. I had an idea just a couple of days ago and I am not having the problem anymore. All I did was back of the battery a little bit so there is more air flow. This allows the liquid to get sucked out of the cart much better so it helps a lot. When I put my 510's (3usually) in my pocket when I go out I still see a little bit of liquid but I've had them soaked b4 & that doesn't happen anymore. It also allows the filler to absorb liquid when you refill. I am usually able to get in more than 5 drops and i put 2 drops into the atomizer. I take a couple of pulls on it b4 I put it in my pocket though. Hope this helps

Leaking in my experience is generally a cart-filler problem. I have far fewer leaks with the ZFM mod, but it takes a bit to get a good plug cut right...and until you do you have lots more leaks. But no cart mod I've tried, and I've tried a bunch, have been as maintenance free as the ZFM. Scottyballs sells them now. $25 gets you enough for a very long time.
