It says "battery sold separately". So it isn't a battery as well? Just curious. I have only bought the standard ego batts.

The 18650 eGo has the same low volt / low amp switch as a regular ego. Before I got my Silver Bullet and some IMR batts I would kill an ego a month using LR atomizers. If you want a cheap tube mod for an 18650 I would get a roughstack or a Bolt (with extension).
Both have a user replacement mechanical switch and you will vape at the full power of your battery.

It is just the housing for the battery and a switch. You'll have to get some 18650 batts and a charger to make it useful.
