I recently purchased a Joye eGo-C 1.1ml (Type A) tank Stainless Steel Starter Kit. Worked great for the first week or so. Now the battery life is half of what it used to be, less vapor production, and the atomizer cone is heating up to the point of being uncomfortable to hold.

What am I doing wrong.

Using DeKang French pipe, PG (2parts) mixed with DeKang buterscotch which was a 50/50 mix Pg/VG ( 1 part) .

I have an ego-c with the 1000 mah batteries. The atomizer base will get warm with use. But your cone gets hot? That's not right. Disassemble, clean, and try a new atomizer.
Here is some good info on battery care:
How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries - Battery University

Thanks. Thinking of ordering the 1000 mah as well, or maybe a pass through since I'm on the computer all day anyway. Any recommendations? I am also curious about the cleaning process for the atomizer - read another thread about using a jewelery cleaner and vodka ? ? ?

I use vodka when cleaning all my atomizers and it works the best for me, the only method I have found to get rid of previous flavor completely as well as break down any build up. Usually I will let it sit in the vodka overnight, if using cinnamon I will let it sit longer, then blow it out from the battery end and let dry. Drying process wont take long because the alcohol evaporates rather quickly, add 3-4 drops of whatever juice I am going to use in to prime it up and then vape. You can also use pure grain alcohol.

If you going to store your atomizer and not use it right away after cleaning, put a few drops of either unflavored PG or VG to get the wick moist. Never want to store atty dry because it could cause premature death of the atty.

Hope this helps.

if you are doing to many frequent vapes on it too fast it will heat up. I have noticed with mine if i do 5 or more in lest than 2 minutes it will heat up. Usually what i do is vape 2 or 3 times put it down, let it rest for a minute or 2, then hit it again. its just like a lighter, if you keep the flame on it to long, the tip will get hot.

Hello atolgyesi. Did you purchase the original joyetech ego-c or is it a cheap knock-off? In a weeks time the atomizer shouldnt cause any problems. About the heating problem, maybe you draw too hard on it? Seems that the wick cannot keep up with you and it gets dry causing the atomizer to heat up more then normal.
May i propose something about the cleaning? After rinsing in vodka, you can dissasemble the wick from the coil with a small straight head screwdriver. Just pry it out slowly, first one side then the other. After you let it dry, put the atomizer without the wick in your cone and screw it on. Do some dry burning until the coil turns red and no more vapor comes out of it. After that rinse it again with vodka or just wipe the coil with a small brush to clean off the ashes. You can then put back the wick, but put it in perpenticular order to the coil. You have a fresh like new atomizer now, you can prime it and start vaping.
I hope you sort your problems with this.
Happy vaping!
