been vaping for a little over 1 month now with no relapse's back to the stink, i have been using nicocig comes with a cartomiser, nice and simple, thought i would try an upgrade and purchased the joyetech 510 with pre filled cartridge's and 5 spare's, my god they taste foul, if this had been my first ecig i would still be smoking roll up's now, i dont have time for all the mod's and cleaning so i am going back to the nicocig, not great but satisfied for 1 month, and they sell the refill's at tesco pharmacy, trying for a refund.

Everyone has different likes and dislikes for their PV. If it's working for you and you're off the analogs - stick with it. If you're looking for something more, look around the threads at the different models. There's so much to choose from you'll find what works for you in no time.

Many vapors like to refill their own cartomizers to save $$ and the selection of juice can't be beat. Just an alternative.

Happy Vaping! Hope you get your $$ back or find out what works for you on the Riva. Before you give up i would try purchasing the blank cartos and a bottle of juice. You may be surprised.

The 510 part is really the threading standard (also a specific model from Joyetech) and not necessarily the cartridge contents..... depends on exactly what you purchased and from whom.

+100 on the comments about other juices and not using pre-filled carts/cartos. Some may be OK tho. Check reviews.

The 510 threading standard is so ubiquitous... you can find 100's of options from 100's of vendors.

What are you using - atomizer and cartridge? Almost nobody uses those on 510. Most use cartomizers. I use Boge 3 ohm cartomizers with good juices from juice vendors (I use 80PG/20VG or less VG). You can use any 510 cartomizers 2.5 to 3 ohms. I also use manual batteries to get the best hit. I never buy autos.

Nothing wrong with joye 510, only how you are using it.

thanks for the input everybody, i dont think i explained that all i was getting is the burnt metallic chemical taste, i have been exploring these forum's which are great, and i know there are remedies, but on first try if i did not know any better i would definately be still smoking analogs, i am now 5 weeks off tobacco after 35 years of 20 a day, so i know i wont be going back, just trying to find my own way.

Hi soreeyes and welcome to ECF. You are not in the minority that found pre filled to taste horrible. Consider ordering small samples and seeing what you like. As for the burnt taste I highly recommend Boge Cartomizers. No muss or fuss and you will experience what vaping is supposed to be. If you are using atomizers it may be you've burnt them by running them dry OR they are clogged because the juice was either too VG heavy or too dark/ filled with sediment. After 5 posts wait 1 hour and you can post anywhere in the forum.
Good Luck, Vapoor.

Edit: I, like many, use cartomizers and only use atomizers for testing juices.

Sounds like they sent you empty cartridges with the expectation that you would be refilling them yourself.

The vast majority of vapers on this forum refill themselves.
It's much cheaper than pre-filled cartridges, and there are exponentially more choices.

... joyetech 510 with pre filled cartridge's and 5 spare's, ...

Welcome, soreeyes.

If you're anything like me, buying the 510 wasn't a random selection. As other's have already stated, it's probably the stuff the carts were pre-filled wth. The 510 is one of the most popular sytems for good reason. You were experimenting when you bought it. Don't stop now! ;)

Hello soreeyes from another new UK vaper. You said you got filled cartridges if that is so I can understand your reaction. As has been said, most people prefer cartomisers and there are plenty of good UK vendors where you can get some empy ones and decent juice. You may have to check a few out (many vendors do sample packs) to find a juice you like, but you certainly won't get a burnt chemical taste. You just have to learn how to fill the cartomiser properly. It is very easy and you will find plenty of guidance/ videos on here to show you how. Check out the UK sub-forum, or the suppliers UK sub-forum and you will find references to some vendors.

As others have said - many people (including me!) start with something like you bought and get on fine with it - it is the delivery system and juice that makes the difference.
