@tomtc
During my tests I noticed that sometimes the head *might* get a bit unscrewed if you change atomizers frequently or if you open/close the air intake slot. Not sure which one caused it but in any case since you get so severe leaking you may try making sure it's screwed tightly on the base!

Or you may send it back and just get started with RBAs that you know how they're build and what .... you're puffing. Although I have not actualy tried it, Kanger nano atomizer should also be good with this battery.

semi off-topic

The only other atomizer I have used with this is the GS16s. I was really impressed by its performance, rich taste and cheap price. Mind you though, I opened up the head today and found out that although they do use some form of cotton to keep it wet, the actual wicks are silica! There's also a, *possibly*, ceramic mesh tube to insulate the metal. If you do not worry about such stuff I highly recomend it. If you do worry the rebuild process is similar to kanger's protank mini II and such if. I tossed the odd cr@p and rebuild mine with a single coil and cotton only.

that's cellucotton right? I'd be as scared tko use it as the ceramic fiber/dust in unmodded heads. I'll stick to cotton until I get my hands on some hemp fibers or raw cotton
I m really pleased with the fiber freaks Wick, easy to handle compared to muji cotton and seems to wick just fine. Am I missing something? You seem very determined about the dangers?

Yes, I'm switching from smoking analogs for healt first. So I like to keep it as safe as possible. There's some talk about rayon and its effects on the lungs when dry burning. On the other hand the same is true about cotton. Oh well... ^_^

Anyway, I tried koh gen do. When I manage to get the wick proper it's great. Very good taste. No more flooding! When I don't however I get burned cotton that tastes and smells bad. So when testing I don't inhale the vapor.

I still haven't found that sweet spot and it's annoying me. Saving money rewicking is good. But I did't bought an rta, so having to rewick it just to makeit work as it was supposed to is realy getting on my nerves >_<

Missed out on the continuation of this thread, thought i'd get notifications?

Anyway, have given up on the ego one tank, re wicking is very tricky to get the airflow right and it invariably leaks all over the table if you don't leave it stood up.

Picked up a sub tank nano, fits great on the battery and the coils are so easy to re wick and look after. The horizontal coil tastes much better too IMHO.

Heads work fine for a day or so and then they start gargling. When gargling starts there's no stopping. I open it up and clean it (not the actual head yet), then I get 1-2 puffs and it's all gurgly again. I tried to fully open the air intake slot and take long slow puffs, it rarely helps. Sometimes I even burn the tip of my tongue with the hot eliquid droplets that come up that way

I'm on the 3rd head now and it's always the same story. I'm really fed up with it >_<

I didn't know about this thread, and so I have been posting in the other thread dedicated to eGo ONE flooding issues. At any rate, my experience has been the same as your, pi314. I just think there's something about the seals on these coils that allows this tank to leak. It's a shame, I had such high hopes for this tank. Now I'm think about a Subtank Nano.

Using Ego One with .5 ohm head daily for the second week now with no major issues so far. Daily means at least two refills / two recharges. Juice is 70% VG. I had a bit of a leaking twice, when I tried to sucked on almost dead battery and when I unintentionally blocked the air holes. But that's common to my other bigger tanks too. Could be QC issue, check if you atomizer has both O-rings.

Once you get the right amount of cotton in it it's quite good. Better than the factory heads anyway. You'll rarely have issues and the flavour is skyrocked compared to the synthetic cotton they originaly have. I also tried experimenting with the o-rings a bit, just swapping them to be honest, but that didn't help too much

It is tricky to rebuild them and does take quite some experience. I noticed that the threads of the heads are not the same on every head. Some are harder to skrew and with proper wicking hold up better than others.

I agree however that it can be bothersome. Those heads need imrovement from the factory. Definately not a recomendation for new vapers as they claim.

I also have being eyeballing the subtank. @tomtc please post pictures of it on the ego one battery for us to admire ^_^

edit: about the one atomizer rebuild... I use KGD which comes in pads and makes it easier to wrap it around the coil. It takes a piece around 43mm by 5mm. I remove the outer layer of pressed cotton and leave just the inside where the pad touches the coil. This helps wick it better since it makes the pad slightly more absorbing.

But lately I got a dripper so I'm using this more and more...

Would love to see some pics of this operation. :D

All too familiar!!
My ego one leaked like a sieve!!!
I tried thick juice, thin juice, vg, pg--no matter what, the tank completely drained out!
I even took it to two local shops for the guys to take a look at it for me (to make sure I didn't do anything g wrong) and both were baffled! It's got to be a seal issue, bc it was threaded correctly, not overfilled, orings were all in place; the atty on it just downright sucked!

I now have the Kangertech nano (like it seems that most ppl in my shoes switched to) and I love it!!
The Nano is actually much more user friendly than that the "One device for everyone"

I only have my mobile but I'll try to make a vid or at least get someone to take some pictures. There's already a video posted in the ego one thread. Have you seen that? It's here. Cut the cotton with the fibers parallel, not vertically as in this video, it's easier that way. If you are using KGD you do not neet to split the pad in half or somehting. It's thing enough. Just remove the very first layer of pressed cotton on one side and use a 5x43mm pad. You may get it right on your first go but it does take some experience to get it perfect,or near perfect every time. Good luck

Such a shame--I really liked mine when it worked correctly. I hope they fix the problem.

Nah, they just release it on more color options. Sales over everything else. First the organic cotton that turned out to be synthetic cotton and MMMFs then the gurgling and dry hits, the lottery of the head quality... I ended up having to rebuild factory heads just to be sure of the performance and what I'm vaping. My next tank will surely be another joyetech. NOT

I came to this thread while having the same problem (gurgling for no apparent reason), and just thought I'd share what I found my mistake to be.

I purchased both a kanger subtank for myself and an ego one for my girlfriend, and was told by the guy at the store to make sure I wet the coils of the subtank from the top before priming and all the regular jazz. I just assumed that this would be the same procedure for the ego one, as I've never used any sub-ohm tanks before, and after just a little while that ego one atty was gurgling nonstop. I decided to experiment with the other coil (because cleaning out the device did nothing to stop the gurgle), and just filled the tank and let it sit (and take some primer puffs) like I would've with my Nautilus. I let it sit while I went to class, so over an hour, but when I got back and tried it, it worked perfectly, and has worked all day.

Hope this helps someone else as new as myself.
