Joytech eGo-C batt (650mah)

Hi all,

I am newbie in e cigarette. I actually started vaporing since last year. But i stop halfway due to i cant resist the real cigarette smell.
Haha. Now i back in action. I am using eGo-C upgrade batt. I notice there is a amber light and white light on the batt. What is that mean? I read up the user manual. It mention about constant voltage out mode and variable voltage mode.

To my understanding,

1) 3.3v constant output mode (Amber light)
2) Variable voltage output mode (White light)

No.1 is to save batt?? Plese advice more on this as i am totally confused.

I have the same and you got'em switched. White is constant and fully charged. I think once it drops below 50% life the white light turns light blue and then once it drops below 10% life it turns dark blue, the same color when you lock and unlock the bat. The amber light does not change color at all when the bat power gets low!

Does it look like this one? If so, there are two modes with this mod. Regulated and Non Regulated. The white color of the button is regulated and the orange color of the button is non regulated. Just use it in regulated mode, the battery last longer and it's a little safer to use.

The instructions are pretty much the same between yours and the one I have. Mine is actually an eGo-T mod, with a 18650 battery inside and it's about 2600 mah.

Mine will last almost 2 days using it in regulated mode.

It's great to use at home, it actually belongs to my wife but I sometimes use it when she goes to sleep early, even though it is pink. She takes the thing everywhere she goes.

in normal mode itll vape at 3.3 volts and variable voltage mode lets you change the voltage. higher voltage = higher wattage = more heat/vape, and also less vape time because it uses more battery life. normal mode would conserve battery life because it stays at a low voltage setting (3.3).

Thanks for the explaination. So to my understanding, amber light mean variable output and white light mean normal mode right?

ETA: Actually, it's not as long as I remembered:

The Upgrade is "variable voltage", as in the voltage varies - you just can't set it.

The battery has 2 modes: Unregulated (the button is yellow) and Regulated (the button is white/blue).

In the unregulated mode (Joyetech calls it "Battery Voltage" mode), the battery comes off the charger at around 4.2v and will fire at that output. The voltage then goes down as the battery discharges. It supposedly goes down, hangs around 3.7v for awhile, then drops again. In the regulated mode, the battery fires constantly at 3.3v.

I think it's pretty much a gimmick, or concept over function fail. The point of VV is to be able to adjust the volts to where you want them to be. This battery does not do that.

To make the voltage even less operator variable, in the regulated mode the button is white when fully charged, then turns darkening shades of blue as it discharges. In the unregulated mode the button stays yellow. If one is vaping in the unregulated mode, there is no way to tell what voltage you are (roughly) at without switching to the regulated mode and trying to guess if the button is cobalt or cornflower blue. I just use mine in the regulated mode like a standard eGo.

To switch modes, click the button 5 times to turn it off. Hold the button down until it turns white/blue or yellow, whichever is different from the last mode you were in and it will blink 3x in that color. Click it 5 more time to turn it back on.
