Hi All!

I'm currently looking for an alternative to my Vivi Nova clone so I'll give you what I like about what I currently have, and then you'll be better able to give some suggestions.

About the Vivi Nova clone, I like it but I find the flavor is a bit muted compared to a cartomizer.

Than I also got some Boge LR 2.0 Cartomizers, which I really liked until I realised it consumes the juice quite fast and when it's dry it tastes like death, which turns out is worse than the taste of a cigarette. So I'm kinda scared about em now, and only use them at home so I can top them easily.

I'm also really interested in a cartotank, namely the IBTanked 19mm. I was wondering if you can use both flanged and un-flanged in it?

One last thing, I saw the Kir Fanis Prive Special cartotank for the Provari, and it's really nice. And since my Provari is in the mail I was interested, but I'd like to know if you guys think it's worth the 75$ I would cost me?

That is all I have tried so far.
Already have a Pro tank and an dripping atty on my way, but I'm looking for more options, including a cheap clearomizer to use as a throw away.

Hi

You can use flanged or non-flanged cartos in an IBTanked. I use both, but prefer the flanged since it keeps me from sliding the cartos up too much if I'm not paying attention.

ETA: For use and throw away cartos, I like the CE3 XLs. They are skinny, so some people don't like to use them on a bigger mod, but I don't vape for looks. I like that they only hold a little bit of juice, so if I like a flavor from dripping, but don't want to commit a whole tank, I have an option. Also, they come in a 5-pack. This is the cheapest price I have found:

Carto tanks from both IBTanked and Valley View Vapes are my current favorites. Excellent quality, customer service and very reasonably priced. Ocelot has it dialed on flange/no flange. I personally have both types... if your tank o-rings get a bit loose, a flanged carto and fat bottom tip will keep the tank from sliding.

if you have a protank on the way then look at a dbox puritank- it is everything the protank wishes it was-removable drip tip and better airflow design from the base. of course, you could look at the protank 2 which is kanger's response to everyone who criticized the protank. those are all my back-ups -the best FLAVOR comes from the little publicized ovale cylo- it is a tank that uses an atomizer instead of wicks and doesn't mute the flavor like all the bottom coils. they are fine if you have no comparison, but once I tried the cylo I forgot about dripping and gave up trying to build my own coils. why bother , when this thing does the job I got into vaping to find,a real alternative to smoking? easy to maintain and simple to use, try a cylo......

If you like the flavor of a cartomizer over a clearo tank (Vivi Nova) but don't like not being able to see your juice level, consider a cartotank. Each time you take a drag, juice from the tank will replenish the cartomizer with more juice. You can easily know when to add more juice to the tank as you can actually see the juice level.

My favorite is the pyrex IBTanked that you mentioned. You can use either a flanged or un-flanged carto as Ocelot said. I did a review of them here:

I also did a cartotank setup guide, and The Ocelot has too. Both guides are in our Blog Entries under our avatars.

The Kir Fanis Prive Special is a pretty and well made tank, but is quite expensive to say the least. It still uses a tube in the tank that can not withstand some flavors known to crack or melt polycarbonate plastic. I personally feel a pyrex tank is a better all-around value. The Prive tanks will not provide a better vape than any other tank, but you may enjoy the way it looks on your Provari. What is more important to you? You can get at least 3 IBTanks to 1 Prive tank.

Large list of online vendors that sell pre-punched single coil cartomizers ready for a tank:

The latest versions of clearotanks are available in two categories: top-coil and bottom-coil.

Top Coil: Also top wicked. Your Vision Vivi Nova is in this category, as is the Innokin iClear (The iClear 16 is eGo threaded, the iClear 30 may be 510 threaded). Will provide a slightly warmer vape. Also are position dependent, meaning you need to tilt or swirl the tank to keep the silica string wicks wet to prevent dry hits from occuring.

Bottom Coil: Bottom wicked. Not position dependent, gravity works in their favor. Will provide a slightly cooler vape. The Kanger Protank is 510 threaded. **The Kanger Evod uses an eGo thread and skirt, and will require the use of a 510-eGo adaptor to use on a Provari, as will the iClear 16.

Since you mentioned that a dried carton taste like death, be VERY careful of that dripping atomizer you have coming going dry
Those feel like going going skinny dipping in a nice swimming pool of boiling oil... Even a tad worse
