I was going to reply to another thread, but decided to make it a general discussion instead.

This whole "All day vape" thing. And juice flavors in general.

ADV is kind of a ....fable....to me. No offense meant to those that use the term.

I mix up about 20 ml of juice at a time. I vape it until it's gone and whatever flavor it is...is my ADV for that/those days. Meh.

I know it's important for a lot of people, particularly newbies, to swap flavors and such. It keeps the interest level up. I started with DIY for partly that reason...variety.

But this ADV concept...eludes me. :( If I like it, I vape it.

So maybe you guys can explain what an ADV is to you? And also swear that you won't change it. Because if you change it, it must not be your ADV, right? :D IDK.

Vapers are ...an interesting group. And this whole "juice flavor" phenomenon is an interesting thing. We have recipes, reviews, and fan-boys/gals. lol. Just floors me. I ROFL 1/2 the time at all the "juice flavor stuff". Oh, I'm a gourmet! Or Oh, this juice is sooooo much more vanilla than this other vanilla.

It's true...some juices ARE better than others. But do you really, REALLY, care that much? I know some of us vape unflavored even. I can't stand unflavored, so I add a few drops of spearmint, or whatever flavor.

But seriously....do you think we go a little overboard with this stuff or no? I know the vendors try really hard to come up with nice recipes and they do! And I respect that. But as a group of e-cig users, do you think we go overboard with All-Day-Vape and "perfect taste" out of ____ coil fad of the moment?

And the whole "Tobacco flavor" thing is probably a thread unto itself....

Wake up on the philosophical side of the bed this morning Atty ?
Great post...

I have no desire myself to have an "All Day Vape" - I enjoy the flavors too much.

I do, however, now use lighter flavors...and use unflavored a lot to just vape out what is in the atty and then move on to another flavor.

I have 3 or 4 flavors I keep in my bag for work...so I guess those could be considered the closest thing for me to the ADV thing.

And I have never had a desire for a tobacco flavor since day one of vaping...odd for smoking for over 40 years huh !

My first successful flavor was an Ice Menthol, probably because I had smoked Marlboro Menthols before. It got me off of cigarettes, but I began experimenting with different flavors almost immediately after beginning to vape.

I used to switch between two all day vapes. One was Copper Creek's House Blend (tasted like cake batter to me) and Virgin Vapor's Kona Velvet Milkshake (tastes like a caramel frapecino from a coffee house).

I made the mistake of ordering 120 ml of the House Blend, and promptly thereafter developed a distaste for it. I couldn't touch it again for months, and to this day I can only vape it for a few minutes. Tastes in flavor do change as our taste buds heal after smoking for years. I was fortunate to make a trade for my large bottle of HB with another ECF member who enjoys it for a gift certificate to my favorite juice vendor, so it all worked out for both of us.

I still enjoy the Kona Velvet Milkshake occassionally. But I'm now careful to switch flavors frequently to avoid flavor overload.

I do enjoy using many different flavors now. Variety is the spice of life. We don't eat the same foods day in and day out, so why limit our vape flavors? I typically switch between 3 - 4 flavors during the course of my day, and have about a dozen flavors at my disposal in their own individual cartotank.

Flavor is more important to me than throat hit or vapor production.

I recently purchased a large quantity of unflavored high-content nicotine-based e-liquid along with some concentrated flavorings to begin experimenting in some DIY. The unflavored juice is not all that bad to vape alone, but I still prefer some flavor added. I find that I now prefer fruit flavors, where before I liked coffee flavors more.

For me the ADV really is only a concept I apply to work. When I go to work, I can't switch toppers around constantly or have to refill them often, so I pick one thing in the morning before I head to my desk, and for the rest of the day, that's what I got. So for that choice, I try to stick to something that's generally not to sweet, not to thick, but still has a little something beyond just a simple single flavor. That way I don't get completely tired of it. I also try to change what it is at least every couple of days for the same reason. Once I get home though, I go back changing juices around like crazy. The last few nights I've really just stuck to dripping so I can change and mix flavors at will. A lot of that is probably like you suggest, being new and trying to explore the whole palette of flavors available. I don't know if that will continue on forever or if I'll eventually settle on a handful I like and just sort of rotate them around. I'm new enough at this that I could believe either one of those eventualities.

My $0.02. And interesting topic for discussion btw. As a noob, I'm looking forward to seeing what other people think about it.

As much as I like exploring the flavors. I have to say there is something inherently temping about having 1 single juice.

I guess its just part of my personality. I expect things to taste a certain way everytime. For example I expect pizza to taste a certain way, but not like a cheeseburger, a cheesesteak or fruit. Everytime I've tried a different juice, it just seemed wrong.

Once my taste buds recovered from 30+ years of smoking I tried a plain ole' menthol juice and it knocked my socks off! I mix my own and use it every day, all day.

The other day I got a dripping atomizer so I decided to try some of the juices I liked before menthol and like WorksForMe it just seemed wrong. The flavors just didn't do it for me, not like my menthol.

If I vape anything for longer than half a day, I get tired of it and just don't want it anymore for awhile.
And there are some flavors that I really like that I get tired of after less than 30 minutes.

There are some tobacco flavors that I could maybe vape all the time without getting tired of them though.
But I sure would hate to be put in a position where I would have to find out.

My guess is if I could only vape one flavor I would probably go back to smoking.

I like the idea of having certain flavors that I keep and rely on, but don't really have an ADV since I started getting bothered by menthol.

If I like it I vape it till it's gone most times. There are a few flavors that a little can go along way, but flavors like that usually mix well and can be worth a big fill on a carto tank if you find a good compliment. Can't say I feel the need for a specific juice that will be with me at all times. There is just too much to explore in vaping

When I started almost 8 months ago, I thought this would be like my smoking habit. I was smoking the little swisher sweet cherry cigars, so I got cherry cigar flavor juice.. a lot of it.. by the time I finally smoked my last one and switched completely to vaping, I knew I couldn't stay with one flavor All Day!
The wife felt the same when she finally stopped smoking 2 months after me.

So, between us, we have 9 APVs, all with their own tanks or MT3, each with a different flavor (mostly simple fruits, no tobaccos) that we use as we desire. I also keep 2 tanks for myself filled and ready with other flavors I like and 2 Vivi RBA tanks that I pop on now and then. And several drippers.

While I find that I stay with 2 flavors the most, it doesn't always end up being the same 2. Right now, I'm doing unflavored 60/40 and 100%VG chocolate as my most used vapes, last week it was orange and strawberry... The wife? Whatever i put in her tanks.. she just wants to vape! ;)

Well...yea. Most people on these forums DO go overboard. Part of it is the unbelievably excitement they get from having a customizable tool that JUST ALLOWED THEM TO QUIT SMOKING CIGARETTES.

Another part is the kid in all of us. Like being in a candyshop.

I will tell you, the idea of an everyday vape is one that you can STAND to vape on a daily basis.

I just tried 2 eliquids that were HORRIBLE.

In between that , is liquids you could vape here and there.....but not for too long.

The other type is an everyday vape. One you could vape daily and still enjoy.

I have spent the last year on Ry4X from Janty and ToB flavour from Joyetech/TW. (Started with 18, 6 now @ 3-4ml per day total.)
They keep me off combustible.
The rest of the flavours I have tried or DIY are just for play.
I can play "cocktail bar" to my hearts content because I HAVE my "SOMA" already. DIY bananna sucks? Flush. Halo Freedom tastes of rectum, Flush. It doesn't matter. I'm covered.

Good luck
Have fun

I have a few particular favorites but the ADV is sort of a mythological animal to me, too. Why would I want to do that? I like variety. I like switching it up. Sure I have a few particular favorites, I have some things I don't like as much, I've only had one juice that was completely unvapable.

I have about 50 DIY flavors in my box, and a list of more i want.
