I have read many reviews here on juice, looking for the "perfect" juice... I have come to the conclusion, that for most people, one flavor will not be the one and only. I have discovered that throughout the day, I prefer to switch flavors, as they become dull and redundant. However, tomorrow, they again are vibrant and good!

I want to explore RY4, which I have in DeKang. I kind of tried it awhile back, and discounted it, into my box of "so-so" tobacco flavors. Somewhere along the way I scored some USA Mix, DK-Tab, Hillinngton, Virginia, Cammel and I think Marbelo, all in 11 mg. I prefer 20+ mg. So, these will, someday, be juices I use up.

To make a long story short, in my search of the perfect juice here on this forum, I ran across a thread on favorite juices. RY4 ranked highly? I was miffed. I got my bottle back out and tried it again... It was good! Many described it as a tobacco flavor with mild carmel undertones. Once I knew this, I retried it, and yes, there are devine carmel undertones. I never noticed them in my haste to try all of the juices. I needed to slow down, and really taste the juice. I needed to know what flavors to "look for" or expect. It's some fine juice!

So, before you discount a juice as "so-so", try to do a search here and find out what others say about it... Retase and revisit the flavor. As I am sure, once we get our tastes back from quitting analogs, things taste differet!

I threw this stuff in the "shoebox" for "another day"... It's some tasty stuff...

Has my taste changed in 2 weeks or am I a dummy as to what overtones are? Once I was told about the carmel overtones, I love this stuff!!

Hey budster! Welcome to the wonderful world of subjective tasting:D

Unfortunately, everyone tastes things differently, and those tastes can change quite unexpectedly... I used to smoke menthols, but I'm not impressed with most of the menthol flavors out there. Surprisingly, I like some of the straight tobacco flavors available, though I would almost never smoke a non-menthol analog. My tastebuds are still changing, and I'm still noticing new smells every day, and I've been off the real smokes for a few months now! Keep sampling, and try something non-tobacco to switch things up!

Yes your tastebuds can definitely "come alive" within a couple weeks after quitting smoking. Some liquids do seem to change a bit over time but that is more common with the freshly mixed custom liquids. Also the power of suggestion can also have some effect sometimes. Always a good idea to hang on to the ones you don't like and give them at least a second try after a little time before tossing them or giving them away.

Taste can be a crazy thing, especially coming off cigarettes. Things taste horrible one day, great the next, and vice versa. Sometimes a favorite can suddenly turn tasteless and bland until picked back up a few days or weeks later.

I also keep everything, even if it's truly horrible to me. You never know what it might taste like the next time you pick it up.

Ok, so I've only been vaping for 2 weeks and this board has been an invaluable resource in learning about my "new addiction". But the more I read, the more confused I get about the manufacturers' protocols (or lack thereof) for naming different flavors.

Specifically, I have been enjoying the MadVapes RY4 tobacco flavor, which I now understand is imported from China. Given the recent scandals involving impurities in products coming out of China, I would feel a lot better if I could find a domestic version of RY4 from a reliable supplier. However, it seems the names are interchanged with little or no assurance that one RY4 will be even remotely similar to another.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could find a domestically produced liquid that would compare with the MadVapes version of RY4?

(Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since my last analog.....and I don't even want one!!!)
