So I started vaping again in November, I tried juices here and there and found out the ones I like are "desert" like flavors (aka sugary I guess), the problem is my juice keeps darkening and thickening within day or less (which in turns gets me empty vapes)

I tried 3.5ml Vivi nova's, CE4's, Kanger T2's, Kanger eVod's and same thing with each.

As far as gear, I use just VV ego batteries does give me a 3.2v, 3.7v and 4.2v. I tried 1.8ohm at the start and found out I was burning those so I switched to 2.4/2.5ohm head coils. (I also use my old riva 650mah battery from time to time with the same result).

I usually have to go to 3.7v to get any vapor and when the batteries goes down to half power, I switch to 4.2v which then gives me about 3.7v.

I vape Berry Shortcake, Dragon's Breath, Cool X and now my new favorite Chocolate Mint Coconut Crunch (all from ecblendflavors.com) which I think are all desert/sugary like juice. I read that the sugar in the juice is reacting and making the juice darker/thicker. I am wondering if there is anything I can do about that without switching juice or cleaning my atomizers twice a day...

Thank you

Not much that you can do about the darker colored and sugary e-liquid flavors doing what you have experienced. It's just part of the pitfalls for liking those types of flavors. You might explore other juice vendors whose juice lines have clear e-liquids even for the deserty flavors. I don't vape those flavors so I can't suggest any.

There are clearomizers and vivi novas that are "rebuildable", which means if the inner heads get to the point where they are no longer cleanable, the inner part can be removed and replaced with a new one, thereby not needing to replace the entire delivery device.

The juice actually start fairly clear (some light yellow some very light brown/beige), and it darkens to a dark can't-see-through brown.

As far as replaceable heads, each devices I used had replaceable heads (even the version of the CE4 I had). I do change them when I can't clean them anymore through clearning/dry burning). I just hate to have to clean my unit everyday or sometimes twice a day. The vivi nova's were lasting longer (as far as darkening) than any other.

Light exposure - Nic turns dark when exposed to light.
Doesn't really effect juice.
Your problem is more likely to low heat. juice builds up on the coil and they work poorly.
with a 2.5ohm coil you should always be around 4.3v
Safe figure is 1.8-2 volts above ohms rating. i.e. 3ohms>5v

After letting a tank/etc. sit filled and partly used, you should bump up the power for the first few draws to free up the thickened liquid so it will start flowing again.

The juice darkening is not a big deal. Crxess said it right IMO. Though I may add, clearomizer types dont wick all that great to begin with. Alot of users are using carto tanks and rebuildable attys with a mesh type wick. I personally dont like carto tanks, I find them a bit finaky with thicker liquids. I recommend a Smoktech LR carto with your EGO's. Easy to use just keep the filler nice and wet.

This sounds like it could be the problem, I really got the best vapes from the 2.4 heads ( or maybe I didn't get great 1.8 and 2.8 heads? ) with 70/30 juices. I would run that at 4.2 volts at least. My most of the day vape is a kind of thick grape bubblegum flavor and it wouldn't start to get really gloopy and thick for days. I could easily tell a huge change in the viscosity and knew it was time for a cleaning as it wouldn't wick properly.

I would try to vape it for a while at a higher voltage if you're using 2.4 heads. See if it solves the wicking problem, if it doesn't you could try unraveling the wicks so it creates more surface area for them. Goodluck.

Could be that the flavorings used are caramalizing on the coil. Dry burning should clear it up, or rinsing really well with warm to hot water. I find some sweet flavors do that.

I was having this happen as well, I took apart the unit and there was a coating of black goo around the coil. Like burnt sugar, it was the fruit stripes flavor and it is very sweet. I was told to wash it between tanks and it is doing much better now. I soak it in hot water then rinse and dry over night. I'm not a big fan of dry burning anything...

Thanks all for the replies, yes it is the type of juice that does that, I was just hoping there was an easy solution heh. I think using a higher voltage will help me. However, bottom or top coil does the same thing so no change there but hopefully having a cleaner higher burn will make it last a bit longer between cleanings (hoping for 2 or 3 days).

Makes me wonder what they use for sweeteners and how they affect the coil. Might be worth wandering over to the DIY section and see how people are sweetening their juices.
If I didn't enjoy my pre-mixed flavors as much as I do, I would totally look into DIY. It's hella cheaper and you know EXACTLY what's in it.
