Hi again @mizzzvikki

Your juice should be good for quite a while.

I tried vaping some liquid made in March 2014 yesterday... it was horrible. Depends on liquid, but most will improve for a while then reach an optimum age.

Most freshly mixed stuff will taste best 2-4 weeks after mixing. The occasional complex flavour, maybe a few months, perhaps.

if i make a juice and let it be for several months - will it go bad ?
Not as long as you keep it in a dark dry place. Should last at least a year or more. For longer storage period leave the nic out and add it as your ready to use it.
I've have DIY liquid that I made Dec 2014 that is not only still good but even better than after the six week steap; which I do in an Oak Barrel
Enjoy & Vape on

General - What Is The Shelf-Life Of E-Liquid?

E-liquid, if stored in a cool, dark and dry place, especially ones without nicotine, can have the original taste for as long as 2+ years. However, we suggest you use the e-liquid and cartridges within 12 months after the manufacturing date, especially if Nicotine is present. Remember that the longer you store the liquid for, the thicker and darker the liquid will become and the more the flavor and nicotine strength will degrade, however it will not go bad.

In the case of the Cartomizer models, we suggest you consume the cartridges within 1 week of unsealing (removing the leaf seal). However, if not un-sealed, they usually maintain the original taste for 2-years from date of manufacturing for nicotine-free units. If nicotine is present, we suggest using it within 1-year for original taste and strength.

I refrigerate 400ml (at least) at a time. Only take one 100ml bottle out when I am ready to let it age. I have not seen or tasted any degradation of the liquid flavor. In fact, it doesn't start darkening (aging process) until after I take the cap off, for a day, to start breathing. The rest of the bottles in the fridge all are the same light coloring that they started at.

I do not see any condensation in any of the bottles. Light only comes on when the door is opened. It is dark in there....or so I've been told. They say the light goes off when the door is closed. I do hope they are correct.....

I did freeze a 30ml bottle of already mixed liquid from a vendor...just to see what would happen. Same as above with the refrigerated liquid. It didn't start aging till after I let it breathe. It was in the freezer for over a year. No noticeable difference in taste.

I vape at 6mg nic. I didn't notice if there was less nic. I cannot say whether or not the nic degraded. Going by flavor...no degradation. I didn't seem to be craving nic, but then I haven't craved nic in years. :)

One of the flavors I'm enjoying right now is a bottle of Nicoticket Absolute Creme Brulee. It was bottled in September of 2014. It is REALLY good right now. I swear the longer this stuff ages the better it gets. On the flip side, I have a few bottles of stuff I got from ITC Vapes that is about a year old and it hasn't gotten better. In fact, it has turned either green or black. It will be going in the trash.

@mizzzvikki You should be fine after a few months. Storing in a cool dark place is well enough. Of course it heavily depends on the flavors you use. Tobacco-like flavoured liquid could be fine after even a year, but some fruity flavoured liquid (especially acidic ones) or cinnamon alikes could go bad within months.

For long term i wouldn't recommend making too much flavoured liquid at once. I'm a tobacco-flavor vaper myself, always have a few 100 mls steeping in the closet, which usually takes a month to steep.

If you want to longterm store nic-base without flavors... perhaps let's not go there now... search the forum (some interesting posts from member Kurt on this subject). I keep several liters of highlevel nic-base in the freezer, and a few liters in a closet, so i'll see in a few years what worked best.

I have juice I made a year ago and it's still good.

Now juice can go bad. Bad juice is easy to spot. It goes dark and becomes thin.

There are two things that destroys juice.

Ultraviolet light and heat. Put your juice in a drawer away from High heat and bright light.
