I hand mine cloud niner Strawberry turning brown. I suspect is due to the heat, and wicking. Wick too thin, the fluid near the coil will turn brown, and when you let it sit, it will "flow" back into the tank and change the color of the fluid in the tank. When I wick it thicker, the problem wasn't obvious until the next day. I'm building vertical coil on an atlantis BVC.

If the juice taste muted after you rebuild time and again, I guess it's the juice problem.. probably you can test it on an RDA.

Lol. It is the gunking of coils, trust me. You guys mainly use juices from across right? Try juices from the ang moh side. You will see the difference of your coils. M juices will gunk your coil in half a tank whereas it takes about 2-3 tanks to see gunking from juices coming from the ang moh side.

When you see your coils black, try scraping abit off, see if it changes the colour in liquids.

This is purely my experience.

One time i witnessed juice discolouration was in a clone subtank mini I have. (got it second hand from a mate) It turned a disgusting brown (from green) as the juice level dropped. No rhyme or reason for it. I stopped usage.
My 3 originals had no such occurrences. With the same juice as well as others. Thick/thin wicking. High VG, 50/50, all ok right down to the last drop.

The other time I had juice discolouration was in the TFV4 using the triple coil OCC. High VG juice. Only this time it was the intense heat from chain vaping the triple coil that caused caramelisation. I could actually see brownish streaks coming out of the juice channels. Coil gunk? Idk perhaps. By the halfway mark, juice brown already. (also from green) can taste the difference as well. Nothing nasty, but more "toasted" flavour. TFV4 is an excellent tank, just keep in mind the heat generated using the powerful OCCs. (triple, quad, sextuple) On the RBA now after a hiatus and it's all good.

It does sound like what has been said above is the cause, a combination of high heat and the composition of the liquid.
Any juices that are super sweet will gunk coils quickly, the caramelisation will build up on the coils. The wick will also darken considerably, as it holds all the heavy particles that are not turned to vapour easily, these then leak back along the wick into the juice tank. It is basically a concentrated amount of the sugars etc in the juice.
Well, that is my theory anyway.
