Juice question!

New to this whole thing so bare with me! So my question is...with the juices depending on the nicotine level or the kind of juice can it give a harder hit? I recently bought some new juice and man is it harsh on my throat and lungs! I'm not sure if it could be my coils, or the way I have my cotton. But I havnt had this problem with any other juice! And it works great in my Itaste svd with the kanger aerotank! It's only on my Helios clone that does it. Weird? Is it just me! Lol or am I just doing something wrong!

Two things can affect the harshness or throat hit of a liquid: nicotine level and PG level. Generally speaking, more of either increases the harshness. As far as the same juice behaving differently in a different topper--well, that's often the reason people try different toppers, right? As far as your specific instance, though--is it possible the wick is burnt or improperly set?

A harsh vape can be due to a number of factors:

• Nicotine concentration. The more nicotine the stronger (harsher) the throat hit. Using a rebuildable atomizer concentrates the nicotine so you may need to drop a level.
  
  
• Voltage level. The higher the voltage (or watts) the more likelihood of burning the juice (harsher taste).
  
  
• Wick material. Different wicking materials (silica, cotton, SS mesh) can give a different taste, including harshness).

Thanks guys! I'm def going to try a lower level. I'm pretty sure my cotton and could are fine. I rebuilt it yesterday. I've just never had a hit like that off of my Helios clone before. I'm pretty sure it's the level of nicotine. Thanks guys!

For me higher nicotine defo makes it harsher, lower nicotine is smoother and unmasks the liquids flavour more as well. Also the higher the PG the more 'throat-hit' you get - which is why i like 70%+ VG in my liquids, that with 12mg nicotine makes a nice smooth vape full of flavour, but still slightly 'throaty' to feel like i'm having a cig

Yeah it was harsh. I think im going to go down to 12mg. It was pretty intense and made me cough for a good 5 minutes.

Are you using single, dual or quad coils on the Helios?
