Frick, did you ever try the Clear Cartos? And, if so, how were they?

Yes, I did. They are very unique in that the coil is actually at the top of the carto. You can see the actual wick and coil through the 'airhole'. They're a royal pain to fill, but the vape is actually quite nice. I got a couple (out of five I tried) that have a dishwater taste that's just nasty and doesn't go away, even after toying with them. I'm not convinced. They give a good, warm vape, and very clean juice taste (dare I say, cleaner than BMF cartos because there's no filler), but the nasty ones left me going back to my BMF cartos, and the clearomizers are sitting here un-vaped.

Hmmm... So they don't suck completely but still need work. That shows promise for the future.

The strange thing is, you can see the assembly, yet it's impossible (for me at least) to determine what makes some taste very clean and vape very well, and others are just nasty. I can see that the coil isn't starved; I can see that the wick is nicely saturated with juice...yet there's no getting around the bad taste.

Others look identical and perform beautifully.

The other thing is, they hold max 1 ml of juice. I can get that in a BMF carto, with more consistent performance, to the only real advantage is the lack of filler.

I find that I am refilling my clearomizers a lot more often then i do with my BMFs

Was it something I said?
On the why some are bad, I hadn't really looked into too much, and don't know which models for sure ya'll are talking about, but didn't I read somewhere along the lines of some of these having an antibacterial coating put on the wick, which can be cleaned or burned off if you care to disassemble and reassemble the unit?

I had a day when all of my clearos tasted really bad. I had thinned some really thick juices with vodka. Not sure if that was the cause, but I think it was. The little filaments on these clearos turned pitch black. Took them apart and cleaned them all, stopped using the vodka (these WILL wick even thick juice), and they've been running great ever since.

Gardner....they definitely hold less than a regular carto. If you look at them side-by-side, you can see why. They are shorter in length (I can fit three across the top of my Bloog mini PCC), and there is also a gap between where the top of the atomizer is, and the top of the case. Even after you add the tip back in, there is still a gap. Holds about .8ml.

I like the filament being at the top because the vapor is warm....very much like an analog.

After seeing those black crusty filaments that one day, I wash mine between every use. Take them apart, soak in vodka, and then use a little brush to scrub the filament gently while running under warm water.

You get the hang of filling them after a few tries, and it becomes very easy (and CLEAN).

I don't mind it. I'm still looking on the "best way" to deal with all of this stuff.

Dealing with the clearos is not much work. It's different than the process to clean and refill regular cartos, but not *more*....just *different*.

The plus for the clearos is that you don't have to *guess* if they are burnt, or if they are really totally clean....you can see it. You can also (almost all of the time) clean off the burnt gunk so they are like new.

Have yet to have one crack, but maybe that's just my "woman's touch". LOL
