Usually the ratio of pg/vg. Although not always, generally speaking VG is much thicker than PG. A higher ratio of VG and you're juice will be thicker. Lots of juice vendors recommend 70pg/30vg or 80pg/40vg, although it's a matter of personal taste.

Many people find too much PG harsh and irritating. Some say high VG mutes flavor and lessens throat hit. It's personal preference. I can't vape too much VG, and some people are just the opposite.

100% PG used to irritate my throat. After trying it again and again over time, suddenly I could vape it. It still depends on the particular flavor mix. Some have more throat hit than others.

Some of the more popular juices are 70pg/30vg, 64/40, and 50/50. VG is thicker and more likely to feed slow in cartomizers, which like thinner juices. You might like 50/50, which is OK in an eGo-T tank or a dripper atty. Water and pure grain alcohol are also added to juices to thin them. It's not completely the presence of PG or VG that determines the final viscosity.

If you use the Contact Us menu on your supplier's web site, they will tell you what the mix percentage is for the juice you like.

As for wanting to try another juice that is thick, might I tempt your curiosity by suggesting Backwoods Brew's Malty Toffee. This stuff is rather thick and gooey, and it gives me fits in my ce2s and even with my drip shield where the draw will get stiff as hell if I don't take it off and wipe it often... but it's so damned good it's worth putting up with these little annoyances.
