Hi All,

I recently ordered some juice with 2X extra flavor. Specifically, 2 bottles of Hypnotic Mist. It has been steeping for about 10 days so I decided to give it a go. Much to my dismay, it has a strong plastic-ish taste to it. I thought it may have been a bad carto so I filled a second one from the second bottle of HM and same taste. So, I think it is due to having the extra flavor.

So now I am looking for some help. Preferably from someone who knows the flavor levels of regular, extra and 2X extra flavor. Maybe Miss Nomad?

What I am using:
Standard Ego, 510 Boge LR cartos, Hypnotic Mist juice 80/20 and 50/50 PG/VG mixes

Here are my questions:

1. Can I order 2 more bottles with regular flavor and mix them all up to get 4 bottles of juice that is the equivalent of 1X extra flavor?

OR

2. Should I mix with unflavored PG/VG to thin the flavor? (I don't care if the nic level drops)

If unflavored PG/VG is the way to go, any help with how much to mix in would be appreciated. This is where someone who knows the flavoring percentage would really help. I'm looking for more flavor than regular strength but apparently, 2X extra is too much with HM.

If anyone can give me specific flavor percentages for the different levels that would help as well.

Thanks in advance

It will work either way. You might want to take a small bottle and dilute it down until you get the flavor level that you want before mixing the entire bottle.

I would go with 2 parts of your HM to 1 part PG/VG or regular flavored HM to start.
I got some 2x flavor Caramel Apple that the flavor was too strong in 30 mls. I already had about 80 mls left in my regular flavored 120. I poured the 2x in with what was left with my 120 and it is perfect.

LOL, I just did the same thing with a few flavors :) I have been ordering most of my stuff at 2x flavor and loving it ... even the Caramel Apple :) actually would like even more flavor in that one! But I tried 2x with the Snickers and Nutella:shock: LOL wayyy too much flavor.. but thats what I get for going big without trying them first  so I just ordered up some unflavored 12mg nic juice and some extra bottles and cut them till it tasted better :)
learned my lesson though... try the flavor at regular strength before bumpin' it up!

Good advice. I knew that I liked the more subtle flavors. I liked the 2x extra when I first got it but as time went by it was just too much. The FA flavors do strengthen with time. But I am so addicted to the Caramel Apple that I barely want anything else these days.

My only bottle of juice I ever ordered with extra flavoring was Cappuccino Smooth in a 120ml bottle. I got it with 1x extra flavoring. I have been saying that I get absolutely no TH at all and it tastes like pure VG. I am wondering if its the extra flavoring that did it. I just got a new order in today with a 10ml bottle of CS and it is much darker and smells much better, just like when I first tried it. I have always wondered if this extra flavoring was the cause of my big bottle to be so nasty. Ever since then I've decided to just use the normal flavoring since these guys have pretty much already perfected the flavors anyway. I'm not sure exactly what "extra flavoring" really is either. I would doubt that there is extra flavoring of every flavor they make since it's a combination of a bunch of flavors that make all these juices possible. Perhaps this is the issue, and if you order extra flavoring, your mileage may vary. I'm not sure.

If that is the case however, such as my issue with my big bottle of CS, perhaps a warning would be in order letting a customer know that if they order extra flavoring the result may not be what they expected... If only to thwart any complaints or returns. I don't intend to do anything with my bottle. If it steeps another month and still doesn't work out, I will chalk it up as a loss and PIf it to someone else who may like it, most likely in smaller bottles, to multiple people. :)

Heh, howdy Type0holic. Speak of the devil and she appears.

Since you're looking for a stronger flavor anyway, I would really just take unflavored PG/VG and dilute to taste. That is probably the simplest way to do it, and the least likely to result in you over-diluting it. If you have an atty, this is a good time to break one out for flavor testing.

Start with adding 3% more PG/VG (amount of juice in ml divided by 100, times 3), and work your way up until it's right.

Thank you Mistress. That is probably the route I am going to try. I am dripping/atty challenged. I just haven't been able to get the hang of dripping without getting the burnt atty taste. So, cartos are my weapon of choice. lol

Not knowing the flavor percentages makes it tough. I'm glad you said 3% though. I was thinking of cutting it by like a third. 2 parts of the 2X HM juice to 1 part unflavored like Salem suggested above. I'll start small and work my way up on the first bottle and see if I get to the 2/3 ratio or not before I start mixing the second bottle.

Thanks again

I am also a carto user but do like to use attys for testing. If you stick to dripping 2 or 3 drops on the atty you should be good. The flavor will drop off right before it is dry. I used to strictly use cartos but got tired of wasting cartos when I did not like the flavor.

Thanks Salem. I have tried several times to use attys and for whatever reason I just can't get it. I know what you mean about wasting cartos for testing. But for me the issue is the same with an atty. I can never get the taste of the previous juice to go away. A lot of my favorite flavors are strong so once they go into an atty it is pretty much dedicated to that flavor.

2x flavor is working for me and I like it. My taste buds are still adjusting, analog free 14 days (yeah me) , and when I start cutting the nic, I won't lose alot of flavor, at least I'm hoping I don't screw it up.

It can be trial and error to get things right. It just takes patience. After almost two months I am finally getting things figured out.

Div, that is soooo great on your being 14 days cigarette free. The worst is definitely behind you now.

You might find that every once in a while you get an urge for a cigarette, but when you do ... vape! I quit last May and by September cigarettes never even entered my mind any more.

This is a fine accomplishment though. Go out and do something nice for yourself this weekend!
