Juices and their smells

I've only been on the PV train for less then a week, and have only had one non-tobacco flavored juice (pineapple), but I was curious does nicotine itself have that funky vaguely tobacco type smell?

My pineapple has it, and its the same kind of smell that emanates from my njoy cartos, just with pineapple on top.

Does this make sense?

Good question. I don't know if nicotine has a smell. Also don't know if Njoy mixes tobacco flavor in their other flavors.

I am vaping Backwoods Brew vanilla juice in a KR808D-1 carto and don't really notice anything tobacco-like (I am down to 12mg now though)

How high is your nicotine? It probably does have a smell and if the flavor is weak and nicotine high then maybe you could smell that.

BTW Njoy Npro is an RN4081. You can get RN4081 atomizer and carts, or blank cartomizers on the web. One place is AZSmokeFree.com. So you could use whatever juices you want, refill, etc.

I recommend FreedomSmokeUSA and Backwoods Brew for juices. And Velvet Vapors has some nice ones too.

I dabbled in DIY juice awhile back and I can say that the 100% pg unflavored nic juice I used had no smell at all.

yes nicotine juice does have a smell like tobacco to some extent.

nJoy only sells tobacco and menthol cartos, so the pineapple that I got is just a generic rn4081 carto that came with pineapple, and I also ordered a 10ml bottle of pineapple from the same supplier to try in my ego tank when it arrives.

So I'm pretty sure its supposed to be just pineapple, not necessarily pineapple tobacco, but yea its interesting.

My room mate claims that the pineapple smells way more like cigarettes and much stronger then my njoy tobacco cartos.

I can't say I think it is necessarily more pungent, but they definitely both have a smell that I would associate with tobacco, when smelling the fresh cartos them selves.

Oh also the pineapple is 18mg and the njoy is rated differently but it is their high strength cartos, which is 1.8% by volume.

I assume its also 18mg/ml

Yes I think it is 18mg/ml. I just finished 2-months of vaping 18mg and I don't remember having any tobacco smells in my non-tobacco juices. But I was vaping tobacco juices too so maybe I wouldn't have noticed.

I buy PG/VG juices from US juice mixers like FreedomSmokeUSA, Backwoods Brew

Maybe try some pineapple from elsewhere? There are 6 or more different flavoring companies the ejuice mixers use. FreedomSmokeUSA uses Flavourart flavorings (you can tell a vendor does if they sell Hypnotic Mist or oRYental 4 which are Flavourart names). Maybe try a different pineapple? I know there is one cream flavoring that just smells weird to me - sort of like baby powder or perfume. Maybe pineapple is similar that way and has a weird smell if one company's flavoring is used?

Also, if a carto gets singed inside from getting too dry, that smell/taste will persist.

I know the smell you're talking about. I've gotten it mainly from tobacco flavors, but not from non-tobacco flavors, UNLESS I've used one then switched to another in the same atty.

It's a stale tobacco/nicotine smell.

I really noticed it in my tank after using a Marlboro-type flavor. Not at all with any RY4's tho. Which I found interesting.

Just for fun, I whipped up a little unflavored nicotine in a PG/VG base at 18mg and vaped it. No nicotine or tobacco smell/taste at all. Just the taste of the PG.
