Noticing the B&M's are starting to get stock of salt based juices. Just got an email for naked 100 salts. In chatting with a couple of friends that run a B&M the prognosis is not the best. Reports of people feeling nauseous and feeling as if it is more addicting than standard nic. I think this is academic to me for the most part as I am fine with things as they are, but I can't help but wondering what opinions folks have.

They typically have to be higher in mg because the bioavailability is lower than that of freebase nic. I hear they are a lot smoother on the throat.
I love my mixes with salts for the lack of th. I don't notice any difference with nic delivery tho. I know diy salts are missing an ingredient that commercial juices use. I do know I won't be trying freebase nic after first using salts.

benzoic acid which makes the nic salts more volatile therefore making the bioavailability greater.

I am way too lazy to remember or write that down. I do my research and make my decision. I figure it is just as easy for me to look up something as it is to post and ask someone else to do it. lol Yes it is confusing for newbs to find info (I remember that quite well), but I found I understood the forum answers I received easier to comprehend when I did some homework first.

I so don't even understand the nic salt thing. For some reason I'm afraid of it.
I really wish they would re-name it. The word salt bothers a lot of people. In plain english, there just adjusting the PH level in nicotine to get rid of the throat hit. Kind-of like adjusting the PH of a swimming pool so it doesnt burn your eyes out. Way more involved than that but maybe it will help.

I have been DIY with nic salts since I started DIY. They really just provide a smoother hit, and POSSIBLY more bioavailability. Nic River doesn't use benzoic acid in their nic salts, and they are my vendor.

The only difference with nic salts is a smoother hit, so the ability to reach high, high numbers if desired. That would be the key. If you use nic salts at your usual strength (mine is 18 mg/nl) they are just smoother, period. If one overdoes them, like regular nic, one will become nic sick, but they are 1:1 (as far as I can tell) if moving from freebase to nic salt juices. I enjoy mine, but mainly for the lack of throat hit, which is what I actively seek.

They can be used just like any other nicotine, there's no magic involved, just a slightly different process to make them smoother. You can get just as nic sick on regular nicotine if overdoing it.

Freebase? Immediately my mind goes back to the 80s .... I clearly never knew what that meant then, either, just that it was something bad and illegal, LOL

I see - so, hence the 20-30mg levels, without killing your throat. Geez - if i wanna feel a bit of a nic buzz, i take a hit or 2 of my 12mg on my little pen MTL and I'm good. 20-30 would probably make me ill. I'm a big chicken/weakling I guess - i quit coffee a couple years ago cuz I can't tolerate the caffeine... (In my 20s there were other things I did we won't discuss, LOL)

The Juul is at 50 mg/ml! Granted, it has the puniest delivery system of all time, and I guess it's a good transition for SOME smokers, but the fact that teens are interested in it tells me they are doing something NON harm reduction oriented with the pods. If it wasn't bad for you, teens wouldn't be into it. What that is, I don't know.

I think the last nic buzz I had was when I was involuntarily hospitalized on a locked hospital unit for about 6 weeks. The first couple cigarettes were FANTASTIC, after that it was back to the usual... "I am addicted to these things."

Oddly enough, I didn't get nicotine buzzes during the few times I fell of the wagon early on. You'd think I would, from the carbon monoxide alone, but it just... Didn't happen. Probably for the best. LOL

Those bottles of Naked 100 should have a big red warning on the front of them that they are 35 mg or 50 mg. Not just some small print that says don't use in subohm. Somebody is gonna get it thinking it is their regular strength stuff and end up sick for awhile.

I used to do 50 mg with a carto when I first started but I had been heavy on the smokes so I was used to the nic. Those cartos didn't deliver much vapor anyway. I went thru maybe 2 ml a day with them.

I use 3 mg sometimes 4 mg now with a tank and go thru around 15 ml a day. Still a couple hits on that tank with 50 mg would no doubt make me sick for awhile.
